wtf is wrong with judges/criminal system.

That guy that kidnapped and raped the little girl from california for like 18 years after already being a convicted rapist was granted bail.. mind you its set at 30 million but why even give him bail at all. Strangely enough his wife was not granted bail, the one without the criminal record, the one who didnt rape the girl..

the system has rules.

30 million can be viewed as no bail for all but a handful of people. But i get your point.

i'm just trying to understand the rule. How does his wife get no bail and yet the career criminal gets bail ..

Actually when bail is set...it is supposed to be set within the means of the defendant to make bail...or if bail is not set it is supposed to be because the defendant is considered to be a danger to himself or others...but judges do pretty much what they choose to do...until they are over ruled by a higher court...and most of the time defendants do not have the financial ability to appeal to a higher court.

There is a saying among attorneys that the law is whatever the judge says the law is.
