Hitler wasn't even his real last name, so why would they not want to "carry on the Hitler Legacy" or whatever?

His real last name was Schicklegruber or something along those lines.

Adolph Hitler's last name was always Hitler. His father was illegitimate and used his mother's name, Schicklgruber, until he was 39 (13 years before Adolph Hitler was born) changing it to Hiedler which eventually became Hitler (The name was spelled Hiedler, Huetler, Huettler and Hitler, and was probably regularized to Hitler by a clerk).

If they revealed their names, I am sure they have litigation coming their way big time.

you cant blame people for wondering how many actually died when the numbers have been grown to such large numbers that even the Nazi records do not match indicating much less dead than was reported in the 80s. Numbers of dead were so inflated they were forced to publically change them... facts are facts.
