Apparently another "terrorist" leader has been killed

...by a special operations unit operating in Somalia. Tracking them and taking them down slowly but surely. Killing is their business and business is good...and will continue as they have a target rich environment. :thumbsup

By the way it is being reported that the President signed off on the execution of the operation to take this guy out. :thumbsup

From what I'm reading (BBC), they were French soldiers, not US, although the French are denying it.

So, with such little information out there atm, where on earth does a credible source find out that the US President signed off on such operation?

Link?

It was just reported on the news...and they said that it was confirmed information. A link somewhere should be up soon if you care to search for it.

This from Fox News...

U.S. Special Operations Forces conducted a raid in southern Somalia on Monday that killed Saleh Ali Saleh Nabhan, one of 4 co-conspirators wanted in the 2002 bombing of an Israeli-owned hotel in Mombasa, Kenya, two senior U.S. military officials told FOX News.

President Obama recently signed the Execute Order for Nabhan, who up until now was on the FBI's list of most wanted terrorists. He was also wanted for the attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Kenya in 1998.

Helicopters deployed from a U.S. Navy vessel near Somalia?s coast strafed a vehicle that Nabhan was using to go back and forth between meetings. Intelligence operatives had been monitoring Sabhan prior to the attack. The helicopters passed once, firing on the vehicle, and then circled back around to retrieve the body so they could make a positive identification, according to an official.

The attack in Mombasa took place on Nov 28, 2002 and involved a suicide bomber that blew up the lobby of the Israeli-owned Paraise hotel. On the same day, the attackers unsuccessfully attempted to shoot down an Israeli-owned Boeing 757 civilian jetliner run by Arkia. They fired surface-to-air missiles but missed.

Nabhan's group Somali, Al- Shabaab, has links to Al Qaeda.

Yup...the terrorists are not sensational enough anymore.

We'll magically be catching them all now...

Navy SEAL's are being given credit for the kill. Good job guys.

ToplistBlog_Com 09-14-2009 04:44 PM

I hope they got the right target, that's for sure.

Didn't you read your own initial post? When we kill civilians, it's Bush's fault - but when we get a 'bad guy', it's all due to the new administration. Hail Scroob!

bullseye wooo

IllTestYourGirls 09-14-2009 04:50 PM

Of course this will make the headlines not the 30 civilians killed in Afghanistan over the weekend.

Dont get me wrong Im happy they got this guy without others dying. This is the way it should be done.

Do you really expect it to make any difference?

Just like crack dealers, there will be another to take his place.

I got no problem with taking them out but just don't kid yourself that it is going to change anything.
