Cheap shared host who won't shut me down for complaints?

I know that even softcore or non nude might offend some assholes,
So,
I need a cheap as hell host I can put a site on for a couple bucks a month who won't shut me down for bullshit complaints

Iron Fist 09-11-2009 08:27 PM

Complaints? About having a porn site? Really? Links?

baddog 09-11-2009 08:35 PM

What kind of complaints are you being shut down for?

MrMaxwell 09-11-2009 08:36 PM

No no I just know that when I post to mainstream tubes I'm going to have some dead brained morons complaining to my host even if I post the tamest shit in the world

Agent 488 09-11-2009 08:38 PM

Porn Grounds 09-11-2009 08:44 PM

I wouldn't host with godaddy if they paid ME.

As long as you are not violating any laws there is no reason for anyone to shut you down.

Lycanthrope 09-11-2009 09:01 PM

While I want to agree with Baddog, I have seen a few hosts term people for no reason other than being inconvenienced.

Provided that there is nothing illegal going on, we would love your business.

Please contact me to discuss your needs or check out our standard offerings by clicking through my sig.

:2 cents:

MrMaxwell 09-11-2009 10:09 PM

In the old days I know hosts would shut you off at the drop of a hat.. any time a couple of clowns e-mailed the host, BLAM, you were offline. I think there was even a "hacker" (LOL) group going around charging to shut down sites.. and that's all that they did, e-mail the host from a few spoofed addresses and BLAM.

I didn't know that it ever changed.
I doubt that it has..

Iron Fist 09-11-2009 10:16 PM

Ask for Chris at www.colo-cation.com

Been online with them for almost 3 years now... not a single issue.

In all our years we have never terminated anyone's account because of a complaint.

just don't copy that floppy.

Mr. Billy 09-11-2009 10:38 PM

Wouldn't posting porn on a mainstream tube classify as spamming of a sort?

I don't know and don't care.. but that is very much a valid question :thumbsup

V_RocKs 09-12-2009 04:51 AM

I have had plenty of hosting accounts closed or threatened to close because of complaints for doing what the poster is doing (or the equivalent there of).

The complainers use the term "spam" when making their complaint and that is all a host needs to hear and they are ready to shut you down.

Take newsgroups as an example... Say I host a site called "BigBoobs.com" and I water mark images for sponsors with that sites domain.. Then I post them to newsgroups in the big tits niche... I post a set of 15 ripped from a FHG. They look 1000% better than the pics currently being posted... I get massive thank you's from the surfers... and a few signups...

Within minutes... YES MINUTES!!! of posting my host gets a massive amount of complaints for my "spam"... Nothing illegal in doing it... And the sponsor got signups and was complacent in having me do it... Until they too get spam complaints from the newsgroup Nazis...

Now I have a host on my ass and a sponsor... and I did nothing illegal... go figure!

All over the word Spam...

The Duck 09-12-2009 04:55 AM

This sounds super fishy.

Godaddy actually is the best one keeping in mind that you get what you pay for. You can't beat 1.5 terra for 7 bucks a month. I'm saying for affiliate sites that you don't care if there's some downtime and 302 errors when they keep moving you for getting any real traffic.

woj 09-12-2009 07:37 AM

cheap + history of complaints = sounds like a winning combo, I'm sure ton of reputable hosts will be all over that :1orglaugh :thumbsup

I recommend you do this. I've had a virtual acct at HH for a oodly while and am very satisfied.

docputer 09-12-2009 10:16 AM

Fred, you gotta get back online. I miss the comedy of the old videos you had posted on thefredknows.com I know a few are on youtube, but some of the stuff died with the site

Klen 09-12-2009 10:24 AM

Make sure you DO NOT host on any mainstream host, since most of them will automatically shutdown your site/server no matter what kind of complaint it is.Which can be easily abused by competitor.

WebairGerard 09-12-2009 10:49 AM

There is no host in the world that can sustain a 5 mbps feed for 7 bucks a month... Just TRY and get it to one Tb of data and see if they aren't already shutting you off for "using excess resources"... :2 cents:

MrMaxwell 09-12-2009 12:44 PM

I had a seven dollar godaddy shared hosting plan up to 900gb of transfer, before..
The only thing is you'll have errors now and then, site can't load for this or that reason
And if you try to use alot every month, they might get upset.. I only did that once or twice..

:1orglaugh I know, I'm dealing with that right now, but for someone who is looking for cheap there's no competition.

You are correct though. I'm getting threatened day and night about having myself shutdown or having to go dedicated, but I'm hanging in there and so far needless to say I have never not profited from things people should be in the red with LOL :1orglaugh
