Wall Street 2?

I had no idea they were filming a follow up to Wall Street until I saw in on the front of imdb today - http://www.imdb.com/news/ni0975812/

Apparently, most of main actors from the original are back. Could be interesting ...even with Shia LaBeouf - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1027718/

Phallus Fondue 09-10-2009 03:30 AM

heard about it when the oliver stone was on late night with bill maher.

John-ACWM 09-10-2009 07:04 AM

It's on my must-see list for some time now.

JC Maldini 09-10-2009 07:13 AM

I love this movie...in my top 5 all time.

cwd 09-10-2009 07:18 AM

apparenty Stone had no interest in doing another one until the financial crisis started. should be good. he also has a documentary just coming out now called South of the Border where he interviews 5 current heads of state in S America that really sounds interesting. They say it may be tough to see in the States because it includes Chavez and Castro so no distributer wants to touch it...

Sarah_Jayne 09-10-2009 07:30 AM

I know I will see it..it could actually be very good.

2012 09-10-2009 07:34 AM

yeah, greed is good ... :helpme

nico-t 09-10-2009 07:49 AM

wow nice to see all of the original cast, would love to see this one

Joshua G 09-10-2009 07:50 AM

is hollywood capable of new ideas anymore?

how you say...not so fresh...

Sarah_Jayne 09-10-2009 12:52 PM

That really depends on how it is done. I could see it working as there world would have carried on. If it was just a simple remake, I would agree.

Carmine Raguso 09-10-2009 12:57 PM

Mark my words, another Hollywood fail :2 cents:

Re-releasing crap that was introduced 20 something years ago is FAIL.

The first one was a great movie.

Phallus Fondue 09-10-2009 02:25 PM

those talking about not a new idea or how it will fail are funny.
then again most people did not take the original wall street in the correct way the first time. it was not supposed to be inspirational, it was supposed to be a warning.
now we will see where those such people are today, when millions have become billions and screwing the people and everything else they can touch.

dyna mo 09-10-2009 02:32 PM

i watch movies for entertainment. i found wall street to be highly entertaining and look forward to the new one!

What's your point? Who said it was supposed to be inspirational?

Idiot.

Agent 488 09-10-2009 02:35 PM

could be good. going to be based in the financial speculations and collapse of the last few years.

although stone has been off his game for a long time now so we'll see ...

exactly. same with michael douglas. all that zeta jones pussy has made him fat & happy. combine that with having to live up to a classic, & i just think the deck is stacked against this project.

I hope its great.

Loki 09-10-2009 03:17 PM

I just don't know if Shia can pull off Sheen's role....

I know it's NOT supposed to be Sheen's char again BUT, to play off of Gordon Gecko it's gonna take MORE then Mr. Transformers can muster I fear :(

I think the last film I saw with Douglas in it was Wonder Boys and he was actually very good in it. That was years ago though. Has he been in much recently?

many quote it and talk about it in an inspirational way, so lots of people. even oliver stone said many took the movie the wrong way and often sided with gecko.
other point is that the movie is not a remake, it is another point in time in financial history, taking place during our most recent financial looting this country has ever seen.

sweetcuties 09-10-2009 06:28 PM

The original was amazing and I'm sure 2 will be good also :2 cents:

Yeah it would be a follow on rather than a remake.

KillerK 09-11-2009 09:05 AM

It'll be good, Transformers 2 was as good or better then the 1st.

I will say you will be wrong. I agree with what the phallus person said. Also feel it is the perfect time in history for a look back at where all the people ended up.

Sarah_Jayne 09-22-2009 02:07 AM

Yeah, I am willing to give it a shot.
