I had no idea they were filming a follow up to Wall Street until I saw in on the front of imdb today - http://www.imdb.com/news/ni0975812/

Apparently, most of main actors from the original are back. Could be interesting ...even with Shia LaBeouf - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1027718/

heard about it when the oliver stone was on late night with bill maher.

It's on my must-see list for some time now.

I love this movie...in my top 5 all time.

apparenty Stone had no interest in doing another one until the financial crisis started. should be good. he also has a documentary just coming out now called South of the Border where he interviews 5 current heads of state in S America that really sounds interesting. They say it may be tough to see in the States because it includes Chavez and Castro so no distributer wants to touch it...

That really depends on how it is done. I could see it working as there world would have carried on. If it was just a simple remake, I would agree.

Re-releasing crap that was introduced 20 something years ago is FAIL.

The first one was a great movie.

those talking about not a new idea or how it will fail are funny.
then again most people did not take the original wall street in the correct way the first time. it was not supposed to be inspirational, it was supposed to be a warning.
now we will see where those such people are today, when millions have become billions and screwing the people and everything else they can touch.

i watch movies for entertainment. i found wall street to be highly entertaining and look forward to the new one!

exactly. same with michael douglas. all that zeta jones pussy has made him fat & happy. combine that with having to live up to a classic, & i just think the deck is stacked against this project.

I think the last film I saw with Douglas in it was Wonder Boys and he was actually very good in it. That was years ago though. Has he been in much recently?

many quote it and talk about it in an inspirational way, so lots of people. even oliver stone said many took the movie the wrong way and often sided with gecko.
other point is that the movie is not a remake, it is another point in time in financial history, taking place during our most recent financial looting this country has ever seen.
