We'd like to do a prize giveaway for January but aren't sure what to give out. It will be a ticket based contest i.e. one ticket for every x signups.

We'd like to give away something for about $3k-$5k.. any ideas?

I am very fond of cashiers checks made payable to cash.

I assume the cashiers check was meant to be sarcastic, but it might not be a bad idea. Wonder if a cash prize would be a good thing or not. It would give people who only send a few signups a chance to make a few thousand dollars on chance. I just think a real prize would be more fun.

Nah I wasnt being sarcastic about a cashiers check.... the made payable to cash part yes... but the check no.

I like cash prizes, I can buy my own thingies if I want them, or I can just exchange it for canadian money and insulate my entire house and have enough left over to make a nice throw rug.

"Gift" prizes = taxes out of pocket to stay legal with the government :( So if you are lucky, you might only have to pay 40% (I think it is) of the cash value in tax. Unlucky = 60% :helpme

"Cash" prizes = you have the cash (and hopefully the brains to bank enough from the prize to cover the taxes) :Graucho
