Is it inevitable and imminent

Is the invasion of Iraq inevitable and imminent? The Saudi's have now stated that we can use their military bases, the Turks are lined up, Kuwaite is in line so we have at our disposal all of the launching facilities needed. We have been forward positioning materials and ordinance for the past six months. The military is now running their plans for the invasion on computer models. Military exercises are taking place. City warfare training for our troops has been increased. Iraq has just stated "no weapons of mass destruction". Is this the beginning of the end?

Bush has been gnawing at the bit to play war with others and this nonsense of sending inspectors and waiting for the U.N. to play their games is nothing more than a portrayal of, "Hey I'm the nice guy.. doing things the right way"..
He knows Hussein isn't gonna just turn over his weapons. His 'lock & load' mentality will make his oil buddies lots and lots of money..
I'm just wondering who he will target after Iraq... I'm sure he'll find some reason to keep spending our money and wasting lives to pursue his cowboy and Indian games...

He must have been big on toy soldiers as a child..

theking,
It does indeed seem to be only a matter of time. I would say that if the Bush Admin had this much desire to fight the Tora Bora fight that Bin Ladin would be in a cage right now. Instead of sending in the Afghan fighters they should have sent in the Marines!

Fucking assholes!!

I've thought about this before. I kind of agree with you there, but Tora Bora wasn't that long after 9/11 and there were a lot of casualties among our afghan allies in the Tora Bora fight. If hundreds or even thousands of Marines got killed at that time it could have seriously hurt Americans moral when we were still quite traumitized by 9/11. Then again maybe we should have just sent in the Marines anyway. My :2 cents:

I'm not so sure. Saddam sure knows how to play chess. So far, the inspectors haven't found much, and I'm sure they'll be given some freebies because, after all, it's a large country and Hell, I'm not sure the US even knows where everything it has is located. Bush exists in an international political climate and he's going to have a better excuse than a couple oversights to send in the troops.

"Training for urban warfare." I wonder what that means: a) blow up the building then see if any of the people you killed are holding rifles, b) send the gay guy through the door first, c) add a new city to Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

This guy is a threat 2 the Saudi's, Turks, Kuwaite's and every other country in that region. Sure they want the mad man gone. So why wouldn't they give us a helping hand. That is there Govt's want him gone. The uneducated mass's of those countries is another thing. And it's not about any fucking oil. maybe the Saudi's will stop there people from giving millions 2 those school's that teach HATE the American's. You now have 1,000's of little kids and teen's that think the Amercian's are evel, and most likely will think so for the rest of there lives.

I fully understand your point of view, but if you are going to fight. Fight. Otherwise don't bother! Everytime we try to fight with our hands tied behind our back we lose!

Being a victim of the Vietnam draft I cannot agreed more. The draft is the BEST method of inspiring antil war movements.

Easy to talk about sending someone else to Bagdad, more difficult when it is you.
