Are you bored with your life?

I love mine for the most part but today I've felt like it's a little boring. No, I'm not depressed... it may be one of those existential crisis days that everyone has :P

Chosen 09-03-2009 03:01 PM

I'm happy with my life :)

I never got this attitude... bored? or even depressed? At least you will have a bed to sleep in tonight, a roof over your head, money in the bank and food in your belly.

Give the less fortunate in this world a thought from time to time and you will always be happy with your life.

:winkwink:

I wish I had as much financial freedom as I did before getting sick. I miss the trips, the shopping and the not paying too much attention to my finances and it always working out just fine.

Other than that I am happy. I truly believe in the saying money doesn't buy happiness but it sure as hell makes life a lot more fun.

Gay men typically have their mid-life crisis at 30 and I am starting mine. 1) I am becoming more into girls by the day; 2) today I caught myself jamming out the the Beatles and I never liked them before. Those are two examples of how my life is sort of confusing me right now.

romeo22 09-03-2009 03:50 PM

Im happy for you girl ..i have sex when im boring ... I lost my motivation lately, cant find good sex partner :( maybe that's the reason why im not feeling great these days!

That's not really how it works all the time. Depression is a disease. You can be the richest man in the world with the greatest family and still have depression. It can be hereditary too. Even animals can get it. It's like telling an anorexic girl to "just eat something."

Machete_ 09-03-2009 03:58 PM

There are many things that could be better, but I'm still happy with my life. I really enjoy both my personal life and "life" itself.

No tumor, I was in a really bad accident. Suffer nerve damage and chronic tension headache. It's not fun

To answer the OP, I'm not bored...even with this ridiculous insomnia I'm having (8-11 AM was my last night's sleep - joy).

May I suggest a guy by the name of Dr. Murray? I read he does wonders for insomnia. You'll sleep for ages.

No offense but I think that is so much of a crutch in this over-medicated world we live in. I agree there are extreme cases such as bi-polar but for the most part you can treat yourself without medication and lessons in positive thinking.

I would say a good portion of those out there taking depression meds do not really need them, they just need to get over themselves. We live to much in a pussified world with massive me complexes and over-reactors or the please pity me, starving for attention whack jobs.

I HATE the fact that we are spoon fed medication for this or that during commercial or magazine ads. It is fucking ridiculous and idiotic.

i'm hoping 2010 will be a lot better!

I agree. Medication is a terrible way to deal with depression. Therapy and counseling I support. Even a daily run can do wonders for depression. Trouble is getting a patient to actually try it. I'm sure it's all way more complicated than we can imagine. :2 cents:

if you are simply content with a roof over your head you may be on the level of a half wit.

most humans with developed frontal lobes aspire to more than mere animal survival.

never listen to the losers here who spend their whole life living virtual lives chasing virtual dreams.

boredom and dissatisfaction are healthy and natural feelings.

they are the prods that motivate you into action and fulfillment.

BlackCrayon 09-03-2009 07:14 PM

sure sometimes. othertimes i long for the boring times though.

everybody has up and down days, that's usual. i personally am bored when i don't have anything to do. be it work or "fun" things. i am a very active person and i enjoy having things to do. my city often bores me and that's why i TRAVEL as much as possible whenever i can and have fun with friends!

actually what I meant was not being bored in general or not have anything to do (far from it thank gawd!), but I just felt that my life is a little boring.

Sure, I have a terrific son, a great husband, a very understanding mom, lots of friends, and two cool dogs. My work is steady, I just bought a house, you know, things are great...
But it's still not very exciting; how about being in the peace corps or joining greenpeace and go save the whales or spending a few months traveling thru Asia? That would be exciting!
