Fuck Opiates
I am trying to take myself off after four years of treatment. After my most recent surgery, I want to see if I can go without them.
God damn is this physical withdrawal a bitch. Makes me want to smoke a bowl, but that would be counterproductive since I want to be pure. Well, maybe if weed wasn't laced with God knows what these days ... I don't feel like smoking the PCP laced weed. Fuck this shit. Fuck my legs. I want to run a marathon. Actually, I switched to Tramadol and haven't had opiates in many days, but now I am tapering myself off the Tramadol too and my body hates me for it. Interesting factoid ... John Hopkins, of the infamous Johns Hopkins Hospital, consumed a ton of opiates each day. No, you cannot have my leftover pills. I've already promised them to the toilet, which is where they belong. |
Good luck with the struggle, E.

I'm using Dolol(Tramadol) when the pain in my back gets to much. Only need it one or two times a year for a few days, and 3 days ago I had to take it for a short time.
I get so dissy from the stuff by the end of the day, and cant feel a bloody thing. But the good thing is, I sleep SOOOO well. They say its addictive as well, so I'm glad I only need it so few days a year |
PCP laced weed? Fuck, you need a new source.

Thanks, Elli!
Kris: Don't worry too much. They still can't decide as to whether Tramadol is actually addictive. They just monitor for the signs but most people should be A-OK. That is why it is not controlled in any fashion in the US. Also, addiction is tricky. If you're taking it purely for pain relief and are not going for a high, you'll be fine. It took me a long time to figure out that mental dependency and physical dependency are two different things. It is OK to be physically dependent; it's a side effect of treatment. The mind is the curve ball. For instance, if you forget to take your pills, you're not an addict. If you're counting down until that next pill because they make you feel warm and fuzzy...you need to look into that. Don't worry too much ... just pay attention to the reason you're taking that pill ... you don't need to worry unless the buzz becomes a priority. |

Oh, and Kris, if you haven't been yet, go see a REAL pain specialist ... not a pill pusher, but a pain specialist.
They have so many safe treatments available these days ... stuff that regular docs have no clue about. One option that was being explored for me ... and had I had insurance ... was some sort of nerve stimulator that shuts down the pain signal from the source. |
exactly, fuck opiates
all the best epitome and stay strong |

I try not to take the pills, because its really not healthy, but its small cracks in the disks in my back, and sometime it leads to small sweallings that pushes on the nerves. Thankfully it only happens once or twice a year, because I cant do anything when it happens, and I am glad that I dont get addicted to the medicin, because I really dont feel good when im on them. I hope you get better so you dont need that crap |

www.erowid.org Some of the most brilliant people you have ever heard of have done LSD and, using the insights gained while experiencing it, have changed the world. Steve Jobs of Apple Computer, Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, the Beatles, Aldus Huxley, author of "A Brave New World", Henry Luce, founder of TIME magazine, Cary Grant, the late actor, Stanley Krubrick, the great filmmaker among many others have all tried LSD and changed the world with their art and technology. |

flusing pills down the toilet is terrible for the water system... water treatment plants can't filter a lot of that shit out.

keep going though- it will be worth it when you finally get it out of yoru system |

I take 3 pills a day for 4-5 days depending on how bad it is. It would most likely affect me more, if I took them for a longer period. I'm just glad I dont have to eat them every day like some do. |
Never liked the feeling from opiates myself. Kick that shit.

Sounds like you are in the middle of the roughest part. Don't give up. :thumbsup |

I am with the others. do not flush them. the water system gets way to many drugs in it as it is and you have no need to contribute to the problem.

I have been battling with opiates for years and years since I was giving oxycontin from a doctor after a car accident a few years ago. The WD's are so bad it is quite scary to even think about quitting. But I will be getting clean in the next few weeks I am stocking up on the meds needed to make the detox a little more 'pleasant'. ;/
Good luck my friend. |

Good Luck. Tramadol is just as bad even though its not considered that class of drug. I feel for yah. Keep with it and it will get better. Ok i read some more posts... Trust me people, tramadol when used for longish periods of time is very addicting both mentally and physically. Just a week or two shouldnt be too bad though. If you go 1 month to years then watch out seriously. |
