No shit...you can't win a war of attrition when the enemy has safe haven to recoup...regroup...recruit...train and resupply. You also cannot win a defensive war by protecting towns/villages. Shades of Vietnam all over again.

Our political leaders apparently are not going to learn that when we engage our troops it should be full over whelming offensive engagement or no engagement in the first place.

If this is the way it is to be...then get the fuck out now...and stop wasting monies and lives for a no win situation...and let the chips fall where they may.

They are just trying to protect their country right? It's a foreign invasion after all.

No...the enemy is the Taliban and Al Qaeda...and both are trying to protect the power they had...the Taliban took the country by force and allowed Al Qaeda safe haven. Now both have safe haven in Pakistan.

It should always be total war and unconditional surrender or no war.
