What's the best way to learn Video Editing Techniques?

On a Windows machine. Just need to know some basics for mainstream video projects for the web.

Back in the Premiere 6.5 days, I purchased one of those "For Dummies" books, which was easy to read and had some good tips even for someone with a little editing experience. Other than a book (there are many available), some of the tutorials online are pretty handy. But nothing works as well when starting out as just importing some footage and playing around with it in the timeline.

I just want to create a lot of real estate videos around where I live and don't want to pay someone to do it for me. I rather spend a week learning how to do it and then doing the videos myself while developing a good skill.
