Worlds oldest dog is 21? Damn, I've had a few live to be 20... Here I was thinking it was a higher bar then that.

Weird... my buddies dog dies last year and it was 24 years old!!!

I don't think they looked hard enough for "the world's oldest dog". Almost everyone has a story about a dog around that age. I know someone who had a 23 year old poodle.

I knew a person whose dog lived to be 22. We grew up together and I begged him to have the dog put down...for several years the dog could barely walk...was blind...had lost its sense of smell (he had to put its nose down into its food)...and could no longer bark...but he would not do it.

yeah, that is nuts... my Dachshund Fritz lived to be 18... the breed lives a long time and it is true about the chocolate thing. It has been my experience that dachshunds have iron stomachs.
