another board question. this one about content theft/usage.
 

i seem to see a lot of threads around here regarding theft of content or using other peoples work without the copyright holders permission. these type of threads along with some other business ones it what made me register around here.

it does seem most everyone is against theft and profiting off other others peoples work which is a good thing, however i am not stupid either and i know some that might be posting against it in public are doing the opposite when nobody is looking.

anyways i was checking around today and oddly enough when i was in mr cool ice's thread about content theft, which someone else point out his avatar is probably stolen - though he is not trying to profit off of it anyways. however what caught my eye was the banner above the thread i was reading.

now i am pretty sure the mays estate is not licensing out his image just yet nor would they to an adult company. so seriously what is up with this and why is it even allowed? they are after all technically using it for profit.

Technically, that falls under parody unless they lawyer up; you can't claim fair use as, well, duh, you're using his visage for commercial reasons.

Sometimes you can get by with a joke, sometimes you get sued for it.
