Oh hell yea! I think the first one I played was 2001 way long ago. It's definitely improved over the years - back in the earlier ones, the easiest strategy in the world was wait until about 2/3 of the season was over, stock up on cheap underpriced leftover free agents, then trade them for cash/players the following year and keep doing that to build up cash and a good team to the point where you'd dominate. The secondary strategy was just to pounce on the good looking prospects continually and build up, plus never release anyone but if someone renews for a ridiculous contract amount, trade them and at least get cash, and that's pretty much the best strategy now. If only it were that easy in real life, lol.

If you want real old school, the first "game" like this I ever played was Pro Manager...which I believe came out in 1984, lol. No graphics or anything but was good for what it was - you could create teams or use existing teams and play out games/seasons. Amazing all the good early computer games there were.

Exactly the strategies I use. I'd have to check when I first started playing mogul. I think it was around 2002 or 2003.

I remember Larussa Baseball, Front Page Sports Baseball, Earl Weaver. Love the simulators. And like you said if only it was that easy.
