Do 'Am I Hot or Not' sites make money?
 

Theres amihototnot, ratemycameltoe, and a million others.
Do they make money or is it a waste of time and money to make them?

I have some niche traffic I can use to make a niche one, but I dont want to make it if it's only a resource hog and theres no money in it.

Well people at Hi-Rise Ent. try to profit from them. I used to have a voting system like that up on my personal site and someone uploaded a nonnude pic that he says he had copyright too. I took it down as soon as he told me but now he's taking me to court all the way in Louisiana to try and get some money for it it being there. Remind you it was a free site, no money made, and user submitted.

There actually fun sites but assmasters like them have to try and get that extra coin so they can afford there new doublewides. I would advise against it.

the main "hotornot" site is estimated to have made 5-8 million dollars in the past 2 years

big traffic means theres always somebody wanting to advertise... Might not be big money but the little obvious work put into those sites I'm sure its worth a shot...

I have no idea if that figure is right, but they sell memberships on hotornot - memberships give you the ability to write people like on a dating service - and I have a feeling if they did make much money a good portion of it came from that.

christ, that's some funny ass shit. my office has the real version of these pictures on every floor. they say gay shit like "determination blablabla" and "perserverance blablabla" with the lame nature pics
