Surfing Hurricane Bill and I've got pics
 

Hurricane Bill passed by Florida on the perfect track to send huge waves to our coast without all the wind and rain usually
associated with a hurricane and the end result was the kind of day us Florida surfer dream about :thumbsup

I went to one of my favorite spots that I knew would not only hold the super size swell it would be a great spot for pictures.
Another plus is you can drive on the beach so your car is right there and all your stuff is easy to reach.

The surf was about as big as it gets here and looked intimidating from the beach.

Only the best surfers in top physical condition stand a chance to make it all the way out.

Those that made the paddle were rewarded with perfect waves.

One of the best vantage points for spectators is out on the jetty and everyone found a spot to watch the action.

Back when I first started surfing there weren't many girls in the water but now they're charging it hard.

On the inside the waves were a bit smaller but more hollow and this guy has it covered.

Bill will go down as one of the best Hurricanes for surfing and I'm glad I was there to capture the action.

WOW... very nice pics.. I used to go to the beach in Jax beach in Jacksonville to surf in the 80's..fun times...indeed...

The raccoon spent most of the day walking along the rocks looking for stuff to eat
and wasn't afraid of people at all. I was wondering how long it would take someone to spot him.

The Jeep drove off when the tide was at it's highest and there was very little dry sand to drive on.
It seemed he didn't care one way or another but it made a nice " wtf " pic.

There's a cool lighthouse just on the other side of the dune line and one of these days
I'm going to walk up to the top of it and check out the view.

I'm using a Canon 20D with a Canon 70 - 200 2.8 lens.

I rarely use a tripod unless it's an absolute must like shooting the night launch
of the Space Shuttle which should be going up in just about an hour from now :winkwink:

Best I have ever seen there without the rain as well... We used to haul ass to Daytona when one would come in. I recall surfing in 18+ waves with 50+mph winds..
