Blog designer mBerk scammed me *BEWARE*
 

I hired a designer named "mBerk" a few weeks ago to do 2 blog designs. I sent him 50% by epass and he disapeared off the face of the earth. Does not respond to emails and has not logged into ICQ since.

I was sure this guy was lagit because a good friend of mine hired him and he did an amazing job REALLY fast.

Mberk is a really good guy, might be some personal issues here. I would not state scamming this early but..I have had some experiences before when designers/programmers just vanished on me and showed up some week later explaining why they vanished.

This guy has been used by several and I am sure people will back him up in this thread.

How is it not scamming? Personal issues mean NOTHING when you put half down for work and someone disappears.

No he isn't, he took off with a bunch of peoples money and isn't delivering work.

I am not defending him in any way but..lets say he got taken to jail or whatever, maybe something happend he cannot control.

N/m I just remembered Voodoo was a buddy of Grimshawn and was in biz with him. So no wonder he favors a questionable guy.

There are a couple threads lately. My guess is that he's busy, sick or having some other issues. So, what REALLY matters here is... what business is it of YOURS? Do you even know him?

3. Had no facts on the situation, IE saying "1 person has this issue only" when in fact it could be as high as 6, but is at LEAST 4

All I'm saying is... mBerk does great work. I hear he does disappear here and there, but usually comes back and delivers. For the price he charges, I don't even see how someone can come on here and complain. Like someone said above, Speed, Quality, Price... Pick 2.

I agree. That's theft. I'm just saying, maybe there's something else to this other than him being a thief? 2 weeks isn't really very long depending on what the project is. Also, "Life" happens outside of GFY & The Internet.

His work is definitely worth waiting for considering the price... how long? I don't know. Should someone pay up front for work? No.

mberk does awesome work, but its a shame he goes missing every once in a while, I did hire him to do a blog, over a week and a half ago, but I didnt pay him any up front, thats my general rule now, this is why.

But I am in no way calling him that title in the topic, he does come through when he comes back, and has always delivered an amazing product for the price.

Everyone knows designers are more flakey than apple pie.

Patience is what you need when working with any designers.

Yea, we hired him for 10 designs...paid 1/2 and got the first five. They were awesome.

Then, he showed us the last five -- again, superb! We paid him the remaining 1/2, and he was going to chop and code them...and then he fell off the face of the Earth.

Up to that point, he was totally responsive and friendly and, like I said, he did some really nice design work.

What doesn't make sense is he completed the job in which he was paid...we saw the JPEG's. We were just waiting on the PSD files and the cutting/coding...like I said.

Weird...hope he comes back. I'd still probably hire him again -- if he has a reasonable explanation for this.

mberk is still MIA.

I paid him by epassporte. Now I know why he does not accept paypal.

i'm waiting on some designs from mberk too.

i have a feeling he'll disappear for a while then come back. he's done it before...

I'm awaiting finalisation of my design as well...
he wanted to finish it before August 5 since we were both going away for a week.

I saw him last online @ August 12.
Since then he doesn't respond to email/icq.

I'm not calling him a scammer, since he did good work, but he should act a bit more professional than this...

"designers" up and disappear like this all the time. i had a guy doing beautiful logos for me for a bit at a fucking unbelievable price. then he disappeared, and i haven't seen him in months. crazy crackerass designers.

i was kind of hoping he would show u and straighten things out with people so i could hire him for a job. doesn't look like thats gonna happen. shame. sorry to hear he got so many people's money in the process...

It's a shame. Mberk is one hell of a wordpress designer. I got him on icq a few months ago and told him about a few designs I wanted and he said he could do them in three days. The next day, when I had all my stuff ready, I messaged him, but no answer. Haven't seen online since. Every once in a while, I message him to see if he's around, but nothing. He could be banking on these designs, but he just can't get it together.

Designers are the only people in the world who has grandmothers that can die 4-6 times. Not to mention the extremely bad luck they have with computer crashes and internet connections.

Mberk had some months ago a car accident. People can become funny after these kind of events. I am sure he will be back, the guy is to good to stop working.
