Find yourself liking songs you hated originally?

I heard this happens when death is creeping around the corner, like being visited from dead relatives! I don't want to start seeing dead people!

Never had that happen to me. If I hate it, I will most likely hate it forever.

Platinumpimp 08-24-2009 01:38 PM

At first, I didn't like ''Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up'' very much.

After the ''Rick rolled'' hype I love it though!

:Oh crap

What about "Pop Muzik" and "Frankie Goes To Hollywood"? Am I finally losing my mind? I've been told it was inevitable? :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

smutnut 08-24-2009 01:48 PM

What about "When Will I See You Again" and "I'm Not In Love" Oh, God!!! This is the end!!! I can feel it coming!!! :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Okay, I think I'm going to be okay. They tried to slip John Denver "CALYPSO" in on me and I didn't go for it! :thumbsup

I didnt like Jon Secada's Just Another Day until I heard the Spanish version then I loved it. Wilson Philips with Hold On, hated it until I heard them sing it live. And Edwyn Collins song Never Known a Girl Like You Before, absolutely hated that until I heard it about 10 years later and I thought it was pretty good.

One of the things I've noticed is that songs I liked when I was younger has taken on a whole different meaning. Prince's "Red Corvette" comes to mind. I thought he was talking about a chick who had a hot car.

I've since come to understand that 80s music was pure crap, but still enjoyable in an odd way.

I've found that even if I don't like a song the first couple times I hear it, if I listen to it enough times I either end up liking it, or still don't like it but have heard it so many times that I involuntarily sing along. "Champagne" by Kavo comes to mind as it's my friends fav song (this one ended up falling into the second catagory)

NEVER! I have some serious musical ethics...

L-Pink 08-26-2009 06:48 AM

I've started to hum "sugar sugar"

I appreciate Rage against the Machine way more than I used to when they were popular. I can also get into some Violent Femmes whenever I hear them now -- back in the day I hated them.

An entire genre of music actually, very recently (last 4 months) I've gotten into Rockabilly whereas I would previously tune it out to the extent of walking around my own house with an ipod if my ex was listening to it.

ExLust 08-26-2009 09:33 AM

I'm a sweet person. I don't have an hate list on songs.

pretty much any 80s New Wave band/song...

Spunky 08-26-2009 09:52 AM

Too many songs I thought I liked and then hated after awhile

tranza 08-26-2009 09:54 AM

I dont use to like them at all, but I hate when those really annoying ones dont get out of my mind!

borked 08-26-2009 10:03 AM

Well, all I listen to pretty much now is classical and I hated that before, but all my life I've spent long periods on a new genre...

just another genre period or death knocking on my door? I'll repost in here if I carp it.
