Who does time released content in the members area?

I see the CMS's offer this now, and on the surface looks like a good idea. Of course the guys who join and cancel and re-join won't be happy, but for piracy purposes, it seems that unless a pirate is rebilling, he only gets access to X amount of content. That means less content on tubes and torrents, and it would be easier to police.

Please add and pros and cons to this model.

You've stated the most obvious pro and con to the model. Someone who joins a year down the road doesn't get everything up front that the other guy's been paying monthly for for a year.

One additional con is that you can't have a live-updated tour with your latest updates. You have to have a pretty static tour that ONLY shows what the member gets immediately upon signup. Otherwise you're asking for chargebacks.

I was thinking about that as well. One thing I've noticed though, is the top converting sites I promote all have static tours. It makes me think, they found a winning combo of girls, sets, text and price points and they are not going to touch it. With that said, I know there are some guys who come back and look, unsure about buying and so on, but the bulk of porn buyers are impulse guys I still believe.

I suppose you could also add a new scene or two every so often to keep some freshness to it, if you felt it was needed. But truth be told, if I can convert a site at 1:500 or under these days, I'm not touching it.

i think reasons why people like twistys, karups, ATK etc. are successful are also their returning members and the fact that a new member gets access to a huge (and growing) content base.

I've seen CMS's that take this into account and match up the members profile to his old one, provided the username or email match up.

Sure. But lets be honest, how many sites like that are going to pop up given the current state of the economy and the industry? Not many at all.

Though, many of those sites are also not able to police their content as much as they would like. You join for one month, steal everything they have, leave for six months, come back and steal the rest. With todays industry, that model seems like one that is leaving itself wide open for piracy problems.

if you signup for 3 months in a row, or come back every 3 months for 1 full month (3 months off/1 month one)

why would you care, it the exact same revenue.

(::sigh:: at the risk of starting another one of your posting diarrhea sessions...)

Your math is seriously flawed.

Signup 3 months in a row @ $19.95/month = $59.85

3 months off, 1 month on @ $19.95/month = $19.95

1) It's not the same revenue. Do the math.

2) They can steal all your content for the price of 1 month.

My concern is more for content protection, thus hiding a vast portion of your content to those who only come in for a month and split. Of course, you still give them a good amount when they join, you just don't give it all to them. This would make policing your content 100x easier.

DRM and flash stream problem solved

also id never leave a tour static, even if I would reuse content id still update the tour as there is no winning formula

3 months in row and then quit for the rest of the year is 59.95

a guy signup for 1 month then cancelling for 3 repeating this would be 59.85 in a year too.
