Move to UK or USA?

What are the pros and cons.

Anybody lives in a smaller city or town in any of these two countries.

The UK is horrible, there are no pros. :) Move the USA.

Machete_ 08-22-2009 05:16 AM

switzerland

Piotrek 08-22-2009 05:16 AM

also +1 for USA.

slapass 08-22-2009 05:17 AM

Small town USA is horrible. I cannot think that you really want to live in an area known for its small mindedness after living in Sweden but just a thought.

Scott McD 08-22-2009 05:18 AM

The UK is like 1 big muslim country now.

They decide what happens, and the government bends over and kisses their ass.

I fear what it will be like here in the next 10 years...

DVTimes 08-22-2009 05:19 AM

I would have inc canada, as that way you have the canada life (national health, relaxed laws, and a drive into the usa).

but i would avoid the uk for many reasons.

our goverments has taken away everyones rights.

everything is taxed.

you get fined for everything, drive 35mph in a 30 zone and it will cost you a fortune in fines (via one of the speed cameras).

weather sucks

everything costs way too mch.

i disagree.

but the uk does bend over for any religion.

to be honest often its not the religions that want stuff its just moron chinless wonders (often some twit in the local coucil) who desides. ie, some councils baned chritmass lights in case it offended muslims. well the truth was no muslim asked them to be baned, and many enjoy the celibration and give presents.

its all religions that are couring problems in the uk, inc christianity, with silly christans trying to ban everything.

france has the right idea. religion is personal in france and should not affect others and the state. thus unlike in the uk you have no religiouse schools.

If your family is mostly people with 2 digit IQ's who like to watch wrestling and nascar on TV, you will fit right in.

true

however if you want to be on the dole, then do a bit of crime, and have your kids run around threatening your naybours and selling tax free sigs to people then the uk is great as you will get away with it.

my advice is do not buy a car or have it insured, but steal them. this will save you a fortune, and the police will just give you a £30 at worst, wish you claim you cannot afford and end up not paying.

But if you come to the uk and work your daft. you will be taxed up to 50%. then after that you will have your coucil tax to pay for police trhat do not show up if a crime is comited against you, though they will be there if you eat an apple in your car, where they will bust you. then you are forced to pay for a tv licence even if you never watch bbc, and if you do not pay it you go to prison, yet if you steal a van, and ram road a shop to steal a tv, you will get 3 hours gardening.

if you do have any cash left then you can buy googs and food for 50 times more than you would pay in any other country.

but then you can enjoy uk food. full of E nombers which most countries have baned.

oh when i say they tax everything, petrol is taxed twice.

they even tax used food oil (again) if you use it in your car. so if you are given used food oil by the local fish and chips shop you have to pay the goverment tax on it if you use it in your car. so it does not incourage you to be green. in germany and most other eu countries you can use used oil in your car free.

that describes most people in the uk.

but joking aside, i do not think its as bad as you make out.

i guess there are good and bad things about most places.

i mean i like the idea of new york, but i could see you being very lonly there.

i think a small place you could feel at home.

Agent 488 08-22-2009 07:10 AM

go somewhere warm and cheap. why waste your time in the overpriced west.

XD2 08-22-2009 07:26 AM

Despite being constantly screwed over by my own Mafia . . . sorry I meant government. I actually don't mind living in the UK I make good money working for myself and provide well for my family and that is all that really matters to me.

There are also some really beautiful places here to both visit and live if money permits.

Serge Litehead 08-22-2009 07:35 AM

what's the difference between small jealous socialist town vise small jealous capitalist town?

fatfoo 08-22-2009 07:48 AM

Potentiall more money to be made in USA, eh.

Agent 488 08-22-2009 07:50 AM

how are you going to get a visa to stay in the us or uk? hope you thought about that.

geedub 08-22-2009 08:11 AM

If you have nothing holding you down, go somewhere warm and live it up.. If you have a family, medium sized USA towns are sweet. I grew up in a city of like 35k and everyone still kinda knows everyone, rent is way cheaper than living in a bigger city and most of the time they still have everything you need when it comes to stores and shit, but usually you're only 30 minutes away from a city of bigger size.

Absolutely absurd.... seriously.. Muslims make up less than 3% of the UK population. And then they are mostly confined to the inner cities of the UK's larger towns and cities.

Most of the educated white middle classes have moved out to the nice neighbourhoods in the suburbs or village towns.

DamageX 08-22-2009 08:16 AM

Canada would be a much better alternative than both the UK and USA.

Top rate of tax is 40% on all your earnings over 30k something.... Up to the 30k it's taxed at around the 20 mark I think... Everyone has a tax free amount of about 4-5k or so.

Yes... it's seems like a lot, but of course we get free healthcare... and a social system if we suddenly fall down on hard times or are sick.

But yes... lots of people abuse the system. I know guys that have never ever worked so yes, it's open to abuse.

TurboAngel 08-22-2009 08:25 AM

I say move to the US, NC is a nice state we have big towns and small ones.

if he's swedish, he doesn't need a visa to live and work in the uk, as sweden is part of the eu.

johnuk 08-22-2009 08:37 AM

The grass is always greener! Don't think there's more people in the world that are so anti-UK than the British lol

If you've got money then London is a great city, Manchester's also very cool and a little more laid back. Small "out in the country" type towns in the UK are very nice but stay away from large towns, usually full of Friday night drunks and lowlifes.

Somebody here, a woman (a per "state leader"?, cant remember Eng word) gave a man that has a huge business the right to build a building on soil that was "reserve". In some remote area.

She admitted that she did it because, she taught we need more business builders, and that he was a great example.

Now the leftis went totally nuts, and it's on every tv channal. Yesterday I sat down to watch a debate of this.

People here in my country, just dont understand doing something without having a "degree".

A famous entrepreneur was on the phone by telephone wire( Johan Stael Von Holstein). He said that "starting a business in Sweden" is the worst in the world, and jelous people who don't understand the fundamentals of business.

Bascially that's what I detest with socialism too, that a party(election 2010) work for "the weak people".

Whcih in return just create and, and make people more weak.

Instead of speaking of the strong, brave, and the good examples. They has to speak of how poor some people have it, how we has to save money.

And most times, they has no rational solutions to these "poor" idologies.

Doh!! Socialism, why so jelous?, we can all start a business, get self employeed and so on.

That's what I had love to let people hear, and feel. Then "Mona Sahlin" can shut her duck mouth for a while, in the red party.

I know there are poor people in every country. It's just not blatant promotions of it, like it is here in Sweden. In UK or USA, alright? :)

On the other hand, Im not saying we should dump all the poor, and hurting people. Just that we has to get a middle ground somewhere about it.

Great question.

I could live in Greece.

That's a real laid back attitude I had enjoyed.

Anybody here lived in Greece, how is the Health care?

Ross 08-22-2009 09:36 AM

UK is shit. I live in Malta now, its not bad at all. Cheap to live if you want it to be but also you can chose to live a bit better. I have an amazing 3 bedroom condo fully furnished that I rent, location is perfect for me and its 900 euros a month. Thats on the more expensive side tho, you can get a really nice place for $650 depending where you live.

I would say move to the USA tho if you can, I would love to live in America. Toronto is another great place to live if you don't mind freezing cold winters.

Hey, do anybody in USA, or UK that their political leader could get away with all these, and still be productive political. And now run the socialist party, to become prime minister?

I do wonder, so give me a pin point of when or if somebody that has made mistake after mistake, had been flushed out. If ever. :thumbsup
