Favorite Pink Floyd song?

Its close for me between One Of These Days and Run Like Hell. Live , both songs are awesome. Back in the 90s when I used to run lightshows for rock bands, I used to listen to Floyd all the time during setup. Mostly the South Florida circuit. Brassys, Summers on the beach , and of course The Button South.

I am watching this dvd as I type.

J. Falcon 08-16-2009 07:30 PM

Too many amazing songs to name, but some of my favorites include: Time, Wish You Were Here, Comfortably Numb, and Dogs.

J. Falcon 08-16-2009 07:32 PM

Coincidentally, today I watched the 1986 The Wall Concert in Berlin. Simply Amazing!

NaughtyRob 08-16-2009 07:35 PM

Comfortably numb.

Roger Waters was Pink Floyd imo, without him they were never that good.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 08-16-2009 07:57 PM

It depends upon the mood I am in - I love the Floyd...

"Echoes" has a special place in my heart, but since it's Sunday afternoon, I am listening to "Wish You Were Here":

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk on part in the war,
For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

very few songs have been written and/or sung that can compare to this piece. One of my absolute favorite songs, not just the music, but the words, and the meaning behind the song to Syd Barrett. masterpiece.

There are too many to list but it would probably be one of the following: Time, Comfortably numb, Run Like Hell, or Money.

The following entire albums are all amazing:
Dark Side Of The Moon
Wish You Were Here
Animals
The Wall

Other great songs:
Echoes
One Of These Days
Sorrow

LiveDose 08-16-2009 10:57 PM

So many but I'll say Mother.

Wish You Were Here.....

kane 08-16-2009 11:17 PM

So many to choose from.
I love Wish You Were Here and Time, but there is not a bad song Dark Side of The Moon or The Wall and I love The Final Cut.

I saw Roger Waters in concert a few years ago and it was one of the best shows I have seen.

It's in my will to be the last song played as I'm put to rest.

Rochard 08-17-2009 06:24 AM

I'm not a huge Pink Floyd fan, but oddly enough I've been really digging "Time". In fact, it's playing right now.

blackbookpleasure 08-17-2009 11:12 AM

I have to say the Live version of Echoes at Pompeii is great. Time is a favorite of Mine as well as Brain damage/Eclipse, Have a Cigar is really close one too.
