Sneak peak into new platform for Google Search Engine

Looks like BING has got Google shook :1orglaugh Here's a sneak peak at the new search platform that Google's working on http://mashable.com/2009/08/10/google-new-version/ I hope it doesn't fuck up our SERPS :Oh crap the same way the bing deal is sure to fuck people who do real well on Yahoo :helpme:mad:
Google specifically states that its goal for the new version of Google Search is to improve its indexing speed, accuracy, size, and comprehensiveness. Here?s what they wrote:

?For the last several months, a large team of Googlers has been working on a secret project: a next-generation architecture for Google?s web search. It?s the first step in a process that will let us push the envelope on size, indexing speed, accuracy, comprehensiveness and other dimensions. The new infrastructure sits ?under the hood? of Google?s search engine, which means that most users won?t notice a difference in search results. But web developers and power searchers might notice a few differences, so we?re opening up a web developer preview to collect feedback.?

I notice their search->results path is slightly more AJAXy as of a few days ago... the URL changes as soon as you hit submit. Trouble is it seems to be broken and doesn't always work - sometimes I end up with a blank screen...

I recall seeing one 404 error a few years ago, until now that was about the only technical thing that went wrong with G. :1orglaugh

Does Bing really pose a threat to Google? I think NOT.
