What I remember about the age of Woodstock and the '60's
...is the virtual anarchy that was taking place in the country. Between the war protesters...the civil rights movement and the stoned hippy dropout crowd...almost every major city was ablaze as well as universities...with rioting in the streets from the protesters as well as law enforcement. Those years were very bad times for the country.

There wasn't much "peace and love brother"...and what freedom did it buy?

Woodstock brings back so many good memories. I was one of the fortunate hippies to attend
I had to run away from home to attend, but my girlfriend and myself made it :thumbsup |
To bad all those hippies turned into greedy yuppies.
|
I've always been told that the 60's were much more chaotic and hateful than music and Woodstock makes us believe, and that Altamont represented the 60's much more realistically than Woodstock. But I wasn't alive at the time...
