EDIT: He has done so much for guitar hardware people forgot what a great player he was.

Great, great player. Amazing inventor. All musicians and music fans should be thankful for the gifts he gave us. He was a very candid and funny interview as well.

Love my Les Paul guitar and sorry I never got him to sign it at his weekly gigs in NYC.

and yes many people forget that his guitar playing is as legendary as his inventions.

He was from a city close to my home town and also introduced Steve Miller to guitar..
