Spanish Question: Mellizas or Gemelas?
Hi, can't figure out which way to go with this translation in Spanish:
The Apple Twins = 1) Las Mellizas Manzana or 2) Las Gemelas Manzana or 3) Las Gemelas Hermanas Manzana? (maybe too much there) I found both ways of saying twins in Google, but it looks like Gemelas is the popular way? Is Mellizas too formal? http://www.theappletwins.com/spain1.html Thanks for your input! :) |
Las Gemelas Manzana is the best translation IMO (im from Mexico)

Dizygotic twins = Mellizas
Monozygotic twins = Gemelas |
isn't "Apple" being used as a name here though? maybe "Las Gemelas Apple" would make more sense, like "The Bush Presidents" wouldn't be translated "Los Presidentes Arbusto" :1orglaugh :upsidedow

Depending on the word structure or sentence it would be "Las manzanas gemelas" Not "Las gemelas manzanas" |

anybody else on that issue? Thanks! |
Although apple is the name. It's being used in a plural sense. Kind of like saying "the twin Larry's, or Tom's" "The Larry twins, or tom twins" doesn't really translate over to well.

so is this o.k. then: Las Gemelas Apple I found on Google, Las Gemelas Olsen. Thank you for your time. |
I personally would keep "Las gemelas manzanas" and olsen. With manzana's you have a better chance of getting picked up in a Spanish country coded SE, for instance Google.com.mx for Mexico, .com.esp for Spain If you have the domain Las Gemelas manzanas.com that would even be better.
Anytime. I'm here to help, and you can always hit me up on icq as well. |
you should hire Omar -- i am sure you will fuck up the translations

Except that manzana doesn't sound sexy at all. Google spiders don't join paysites

You wrote "Las Gemelas Manzanas" The Apples Twins, shouldn't it be: "Las Gemelas Manzana" ?? The Apple Twins ? The guy from Mexico said "Las Gemelas Manzana" was correct as well. Thanks again! |

I'm still partial to "Las Gemelas Apple" :2 cents:
people in south america don't call this a "Manzana Macintosh" :1orglaugh http://i30.tinypic.com/ix8nyb.jpg |
Gemelas are identical twins, mellizas are just twins(not identical).:2 cents::2 cents:

"Las Gemelas Apple" for: The Apple Twins isn't "Apple" better as it is a proper name, vs. Manzana which is the fruit, instead of the name? Thanks DHentai for your time. |
Keep it as Las Gemelas Apple
you wouldnt translate 'rafa nadal' *nadal is catalan for christmas* to 'rafa navidad' or 'rafa' christmas' or Julio inglesias to Julio church. |
I'm a native Spanish speaker and using manzana is dumb, sorry, it's not like people are looking for apple porn on google
|
"Las Gemelas Apple" looks good ;)
|
this thread could use a pic or two of these Apple Twins :winkwink:
|
Las Gemelas Manzana <-- Las Hermanas Gemelas
Apple is "manzana", a fruit, any porn site in spanish lang use "apple", you can use your english domain "theappletwins.com", but inside, don't use "manzana", use "hermanas" or "chicas" Saludos! :winkwink: |
Excellent points all. Thank you very much. We're gonna change it tonight to: "Las Gemelas Apple" for their title.
Thanks for the input! :thumbsup |
