I always used the number 3... so 2 column

3.. wp theme? print job? 3 does better most of the time.

3 column for the front page, 2 column for content pages.

As it is now, it would seem 40% of GFY are still not caught up with web trends.

For the majority of my projects I use a simple 2 column design. If i require the space, I will run 3 columns. Really depends on the site and what i'm trying to achieve. Can't vote either way, but if I had to, ya 2 columns...

gmail, facebook, youtube, twitter = 2 columns
