WordPress Memory Leak?

Has anyone had a problem with WordPress memory leaks? Moved a blog 3 times so far and it's still running up the memory on the server to the point that it crashes when it starts getting traffic during peak times. We upgraded to WP 2.8.3, installed it freshly on several different servers without any plugins and then activated Super Cache to try to fix it but the same thing is still happening over and over. It only gets 10-20k hits a day, we're perplexed being we have bigger sites with heavier scripts than this little mainstream WP blog.

If you had this problem, how did you remedy it? :helpme

Never had a problem with the planet or the other 2 hosts before for even bigger sites.

Are you running it on a shared or dedi?

Tried both. Was on shared, upgraded to dedicated and the same thing happens when it starts getting traffic, even with fresh installs.

You optimize MySQL on the dedicated server?

Haven't had WP specific issues, but have had issues with PHP using up 4x more memory than before. Could be a PHP version and a known memory leak?
