Where is a good place to learn about RAID?
An array makes them mirrored for data integrity.. I mean safety?
Striping uses both drives as one and doubles the speed, right? Okay I want that.. How do I learn about RAID? Is it a big deal? I got a dual xeon server I want to use here at home, see, and I have no idea of how to get Xp Pro onto it.. Do I set up the raid config as I'm installing windows? Will I have to have some god damned floppy disk with raid drivers, like I had to have for windows 2000 and sata drives? Also... Is SATA to USB2 pretty fast? I have SATA drives I want to keep most of my shit on I just want the SCSI drives to have the OS and program files God damned sata cards are expensive? Yeah? THANKS |
Easy way to learn ABOUT raid, wikipedia.

I don't think I can post a link to another forum, but if you would like the url to an AMAZING forum dedicated to working with computers (from overclocking to finding a good keyboard) ICQ me.
I do not own or work for them, just love the place. |
