Today was a very sad day...
 

I had to let 3 of my domain names go... I have several thousand total and I usually renew them all. But these three didn't make a single sale for a year... They were all for the same sponsor. I won't name names because they might be doing well for others...

It is so fucking rare that I built something and it doesn't make a single sale...

Sure, the majority of sites I build are singles or doubles... There can only be so many homers or grand slams. But to not make a single sale was pretty nuts. And for all three to be the same sponsor and not make a sale.

Even with 1 sale a year... $35/$8 = 437.50% return... If Rupert Murdoch knew how much money my investments return I am sure he'd buy up all of the tubes and just about everything else porn...

BTW... this sponsor only has three sites...

you too? LOL i regged domains for sponsor specific stuff and I too noticed, despite traffic, they didnt even make a sale... some used to make sales every week then zeros ;)

We let 4 or 5 go this year for the first time in 10 years, but they were ones we hadn't done anything with, so it was our own fault I guess. We've been focusing a lot on getting our own affiliate program up very soon and we're looking forward to that. Even though things have slowed down, we should be able to give some people something "new" to promote. Mandy :)

Big deal,i dropped tons of domains.

What these domain comapnies are doing now is stealing! They are not letting the expired domains come back to the market.

The companies who are the registrant are just keeping the domains or putting them in these rediculous auctions-

As of now- once you let a domain expire it is gone forever.

I cant wait to see who is the first few companies to get a class action lawsuit.

What is going on should be illegal!

You should have sold them on GFY, might have fetched 50 bucks each, question is if It's worth the trouble to even list for sale.
