How do i fix an iphone that got wet?

I was out on my boat watching the blue angels and my phone got submersed in water for a few minutes and only the apple logo appears when it loads up. Anyone successfully fix their iphone?

yeah i let it dry for a day or two and it worked again.

Edit: I think I set it in a puddle and grabbed it right away but it was messed up for a bit.

Put it a couple of days in a bowl of rice. It may help.

Well, first off you should have taken the battery out when it was still underwater. (do apples have batteries like cellphones? Never owned an apple)

Next, you shouldn't be trying to turn it on when it's wet.

Since you didn't follow those directions, I'm going to say it's probably toast. But, you can leave it sit for a couple days and maybe if the gods are smiling on you, it'll dry out and work.

ive heard this works pretty well and even better if you can put it in a dry location, as in not outside after its rained out or by a window.

Submerge the phone in 90% isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) for a couple of hours
then let it dry out for a day.

The water is replaced by alcohol inside the phone but unlike the water the alcohol
will evaporate.

I did it before and it worked.

whatever you do dont walk into a iphone store claiming it just broke, when your iphone gets wet certain parts change colors and they can tell its water damage

JamesK 08-06-2009 04:01 PM

put it in the microwave for a few minutes, did wonders for me!

Supz 08-06-2009 04:17 PM

put it in rice. rice absorbs water.
