3 undeniable thruths about music
 

1) Beethoven's 9th Symphony was the best damn piece of music ever written (check Von Karajan's version with really loud speakers if in doubt)
2) Beatles were the best band ever
3) Neil Peart is/was/will be the best drummer in history


and an additional 4) Drummer's are musicians best friends

Neil Pert is talented but he was no Buddy Rich, who was probably a huge influence on him. Also he played in the most over rated rock band ever so he will never get the respect he deserves.

I'm not gonna argue either way since I've always admired both drummers - but realize they both came from different eras.

Buddy Rich was great (as was Keith Moon, Bonham and yes, Ginger Baker) - and Neil Peart took things to the next stage of drumming evolution (influenced by Rich).

Don't forget about Pearl Jam. These bands have played hundreds of concerts that were truly live. Many musicians won't play live because they suck live.:thumbsup

So by truths you mean opinions?

#1. Chopin is one of the best ever and avoided being beheaded by a ruthless King.
