Surprising research has revealed that in modern wars, most soldiers get through the war without ever shooting at anyone, so profound is the aversion to killing. And those who do, frequently only do so in desperation to prevent their own death. Despite the incredible quantity of ordnance fired at American soldiers landing at the Normandy beachhead, I believe I read that 75% of the soldiers interviewed years later revealed that they never pulled the trigger on their rifle, or if they did they never actually aimed at a specific person.

If such orders were given, it's a shame, but experience indicates such orders would normally be widely ignored. Most soldiers actually put into battlefield situations try to get through without being killed or killing. When someone's firing at you it's hard not to fire back, but would the average American soldier shoot a five year old girl in the back. I don't think so.

I think this is one of the reasons why the US Military has striven to make the killing as remote and impersonal as possible, such as the recent assassination of an Al Qaeda official via a bomb dropped by an unmanned drone.

I was in the U.S. Marines I started off as a Military Policeman a few weeks after getting out of school, shooting perfect on the rifle range, expert on pistol I was sent to my first base, where in the first 3 days I changed MOS's to SRT/TRT (Special Reaction Team / Terrorist Reaction Team).

After this many things went down...School for 10 weeks, FBI ShotGun camp 3 weeks, NS war tattics 2 weeks, NS Riffle Camp 2 weeks and then finally Simple EOD for 2 weeks. (numbers are some what off ofcourse)

I was in schools for over 30 weeks plus the 16 weeks of boot camp / combat training I went into the FIELD for the first time. I was going nuts I had only been it the Marines for something like 7 months and I was fixing to go have what I thought was fun.

All though I was having a blast back then and though the Marines was my new life, it all ended as fast as it started.

Around 1.2 years in I got shot in the chest.

3 months later I went back on Duty but as a Military Policeman guarding the base gates. (real fucking shity job).

A few weeks later something happened to me that changed my life. I was on the gate and was forced to protect myself, after doing so the MP's that came to take me in for questions drew down on me.

My mind went blank for the next 15 minutes or so. During this time the video in the cars taped what I did. I did something to this day I can't understand. I put 2 of my best friends in the ER.

The next 9 weeks was in the Mental Ward.

Around the end of my 2nd year I was out of the Military with an Honorable Discharge.

The YEARS that followed was packed with fighting for benefits and shrinks to unfuck my mind. Doors that no person should ever open. The things I did and was told to in the Military changed my out look on life and how I would live my life forever.

Just because I know my GOV I wont finish my story. I will tell you this, every person that knows me knows my story but I won't post it online. The story that Soldier tells in my mind is 100% correct.

I have had friends and family that had very close orders as well. My dad and his best friend both fought in Nam. After trading war stories we learned we got the same orders.

Saying that our GoV would not issue those orders is as stupid as people believing the GoV when they say their wa no Gulf War Syndrome.

7 Years later I read this and only hope he did not have to do what he was told to do. As I know what he will go through.

im not even going to read the article... but if you dont think the military doesnt realize they are killing women and children, then you're a dolt..... if it means national security or the end product is world peace, what the fuck does the fact that you have a cock or a kunt, are tall and old or short and young have to do with anything?

Well I think they probably choose that (treat everyone as an emeny) option because these muslims would be happy to Strap a bomb to the back of a young girls back and make her walk upto the american soldiers, I remember seeing the Firestorm base movie on Vietnam, where 2 young girls approched the base and the Americans let them get close and the girls had TNT strapped all over them. The Muslims are brainwashed and it would be easy to tell them to do things like this. And if your only 100 men in a group thats taking on possibily 1000's I'd fucking treat anything that moved as an emeny.

I do not think American soldiers would openly shoot woman and kids, but when the shit is going down in the middle of the battles I'm sure they could be considered targets too. Ummm woman and 7 year kids can hold handgrenages hidden, they can carry and shoot guns and thats why they would be considered targets

I'm sure the idea was not : "Lets kill all the men, then when theres no threat lets clean the place up by killing all the babys, kids and woman. I do not believe the orders would of been meant or used for that.

obviously it's quite biased,

the military has this thing called "Rules of Engagement"
and every mission the rules are different,

off course if you was in a situation where a woman and children are armed and shooting at you, then you will have no choice but to shoot back,

i am sure you seen the videos with kids and woman holding weapons so its quite possible

if you sit back and think about it, no sane human will want to deliberately or order someone to shoot at innocent non combantants

Believe it or not I had my Marines singing cadence talking about napalming playgrounds of elementary schools and how much fund it would be... Granted I'd get yelled at by my superiors when they heard me yell it, but trust me, I didn't come up with the words, it's been passed down through generations of Marines. I don't believe it is meant to show we like to kill civilians, but to instill a 'im a psychotic killing machine, the most advance military unit in the world' kind of feeling.... which it does....

Regardless of this story being true or not, there are probably thousands like it.

I heard the main reason there are terrorist groups who hate the US, is because thousands of children in the Middle East are killed every year by Americans.

That's why the faster we kill them all, the better off we'll be.
