How things used to be
This is great reading for all the young GFY webmasters who don't know how controlled things used to be in this industry. LOL

Interesting reading.. Thanks for sharing
"In 1994, an Israeli porn shop owner told the New York Daily News: "Everything used to be owned by the Mafia. But in 1986 John Gotti let everybody in." "The days of Mob influence are gone," claimed a Sri Lankan businessman. "There's no money in the business for them. Tapes used to be $100 each. Now they're selling for $3.99." |
It was interesting to see the Boneprone Famila mentioned in there. I didnt think they had been around for that long.

When I was in LA I used to go out to dinner with Lou Jr. every now and then. Every time after we went out, my face literally hurt, from having a perpetual grin on my face from him making me laugh so damn much. Great guy.

Very interesting. It's quite long, but very interesting article.

Schwick, assuming that's LTD you're talking about? I was in my early 20's back then just getting started in the apparel / textile mfg business, and did some good biz supplying zippers to their dress mfg. co. Trying to remember their garment company name back then. Think it was Roberta Mfg. Small world.

KRL,
I am only talking about two and three years ago. Butchie's son Louis was in LA running his duplication lab. Still the guy was one of the funniest people that I have ever met. I kept telling him since he was in LA he should have done some stand up comedy...really he would have been great. |

"That and the vending machine business. Cigarettes, candy, mobile catering businesses that go around construction sites, these are traditional organized crime business for one good reason. They do a tremendous volume of cash in small amounts. Organized crime has lots of cash that it needs to launder from its other businesses: drugs, prostitution... |
