Tom Petty concert tonight in OH
 

I acutally had the chance to see Tom Petty live today while he was warming up for the concert at the Schottenstein Center.

I don't really care too much about him - never been a big fan. But being backstage and listening to his music kinda made me wanna download some songs ... just thought I'd share.

he has some cool songs I guess :)

it sounded like old school hard rock to me. pretty tight shit. none of that modern bass drum shit.

i was especially amazed by the amount of guitars he was carrying ... must have been around 30 or so ... what the fuck do you need em all for ?

Tom Petty is a cool guy.

I've seen TP & The HB in concert 14 times since 1978. They always put on a great show. I'll never forget back in 1979 when they did a show in Philly...after the show my friends and I stopped at our favorite pizza shop and in the middle of our meal, in strolled Tom & the band. We about died! (We were like 19 and all had crushes on him or some other member of the band. lol)

They grabbed the booth next to ours, noticed we were wearing our new t-shirts that we had just gotten at the show, and proceeded to chat with us about the show and all kinds of shit. They were all very down to earth then, maybe it was because they weren't that well known. lol

It was a very cool experience and a great memory! :thumbsup

the only great memory that remains for me is the one of the panicing security guards kicking us out, although we had a perfectly valid reason to be there (the athletic training room is located there).
