Someone recommend a home security system, almost had an intruder
I just went out on my deck and heard the leaves rustling, I figured it was an animal, but then it got louder so I said "Hello?" and a guy ran from under my deck and hopped the fence to the neighbors yard and took off. Theres a window to my basement under my deck and he was probably looking in there.
I couldnt see him because the light in my house behind me was strong, but man I am freaked. Don't know how I'm going to get to sleep tonight. This has always been a really safe quiet neighborhood. So I think the only answer is to get a home security system, like Brinks or ADT or something. Any of you use any of them? |
cameras, get those lil x10 cams

Rottweiler :thumbsup

damn i've been waiting years for someone to break into my house...

I use the system on this link. Take a look. Its kind of nasty but works fucking great.
Not one successful breakin yet. Wish I had pics of the one dumb fuck that tried and didn't believe my signs on our property, and then proceeded to jimmy open one of the back doors, at our house in LA. All we found when we got home was a big pool of blood on the floor, some pieces of his skin, and scraps of what was left of his tattered clothes. http://www.internetmanagementservice...nce/index.html LOL |
nice weapon... innacurate as all hell though
|
get a fucking gun ...next time say "bang" instead of hello

|
just post a sign that says Secure by ADT
or something |
hire the BP4L family.
|
get a gun with some blanks and next time you hear or think you hear someone fire off the blanks and they will more then likely not come back.
|
Rottweiler and a sawed off .12 gauge combination . . . kind of a point and shoot program

Firing blanks is just begging for the perp to kill you. |
Yeh I totally agree, if you have a gun and aren't prepared to shoot to kill don't have a gun cause you'll get shot first.
Blanks in the air. Fuck no, one 00 buck shot to stop him and then a slug round through the heart or head, to finish him off, take your pick. |
|
motion sensor / light system in the backyard is a must in that case.

Most thiefs are breaking into homes to pay for drugs. They don't research who lives there, they just pick houses at random.
An alarm or a dog will increase the chance the thief will get caught. 99% of the time they will just move along to the next house. Think about it for a second, if you had to break into a house would you pick a house with the alarm/dog or the house with nothing? |
Marcus - I use an alarm system and it works great.
|
Ya...get a home secirity system they are pretty good. I had a problem wih the one i had cuz seagulls kept setting off the lazer detectors on my balcony. Was on the ocean and the bastards would come and hang out and the thing would go off and call the security guys...and roomate kept forgetting the pass and they would show up gain...but once we got it fine tuned i slept better at night

Buy the system separate from the monitoring - there are ripoffs out there where you get the system "for free", but you pay $30 a month and have to sign a 3 year contract.
I had my system installed - 5 doors, 2 glass breaking alarms, 2 smoke detectors, battery back up and 3 keypads for about $500 and I pay $12 a month for the monitoring. There are also cellular connections you can get if you're worried about the phone lines getting cut. I honestly couldn't care less if someone breaks in while I'm gone - everything's insured and the "irreplaceable" things like family photos, no one wants :winkwink: (plus it would be quite a trick to watch someone carry anything heavier than a fax machine up my driveway, hehehe). I have the alarm because my biggest fear is waking up with someone already in the house....I want the alarm to go off so when we're face to face, I have my gun in theirs :thumbsup The smoke alarm connection's good for when I'm gone, but I live so far out, every house in my subdivision has burned to the ground before the FD got there :( Yeah, I know, living this far out I really don't NEED an alarm, but I also didn't want to say "Sure wish I'd bought one" AFTER someone broke in :1orglaugh |

And if he does and you fire off some blanks - put you head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye! |

9mm...and steal someones ADT sign and put it in your yard

get the ADT system or an ADT sign to put in good position in your front and backyard
That guy will be back..... so I'd put a security sign in that same area.... Also buy you a nice handgun revolvers are nice but automatics hold more shots Buy yourself a glock and don't worry to much about it.... Theives go for easy targets... just make your house/property a hard target |
Dogs are great alarms, Smith & Wesson provides the correct follow through.

Place a few "bouncing bettys" and a couple Claymoores around the garden, should take care of business.
