No, because I registered it as a free domain and apparently it violated a trademarked term and they had their lawyers go after me for the domain...

Cost them more to go that route than I spent on it

The first two I registered was in 1997 and 1998. I gave one to a buddy, and a domain squatter got another one. The third one I registered in 1999 I still have.

Yup, but the date's off since I transfered from NetSol to GoDaddy after they did the 'reroute all unadvertised to ourselves' bullshit back around '98.

Same here, my first was sqvirtual.com in 1996 but when I transfered it to DirectNIC they changed it to like 2001. Lame, but not that big a deal I guess except it makes me look like I'm full of BS.

On a serious note, My first domain was Seneca.com because it was a nickname I got when I moved to a new town from Seneca, and I let it go, now some company has it.

I would love to post my "let em expire" list sometime. Man I bought alot of crazy lame shit. Plus I prob owned every celeb domain out there that I let expire and many folks picked up. Like soandsonude.com soandsopictures.com back when celeb domains got it done. Today I own 5 celeb domains. I let go at least 100.

I've let go at least 300 domains total. Most weren't that hot but at least 75% were regged later. Not bragging, just a guy who bought too many domains in the early days.

domain squatters are sitting on all 3 of my original domains. They were registered in 99, I grabbed the .com/.org/.net. Not the greatest domains ever, but I guess they must make a few bucks parked as they haven't gone down for a long time.

Only guy in those days who talked about domains was Rick Schwartz. The rest of us were clueless. On April 12, 1995 I got in a fight with the boss at the pizza place I worked at for 7 years and walked out. It seemed like the bottom. Little did I realize that $210 spent on 3 domains at Network Solutions... what kind of domains could I have gotten on April 12, 1995.

Damn man. I relive that over and over. Just didn't know.

What similiar, easy opportunity exists today? Eh prob somewhere there is as easy as opportunity as I had. But maybe not on the internet.
