Removing links=ASSHOLE!

How in the fuck do these jerkoffs expect to survive by doing this, not only unethical practice, but fucked up practice to boot. Is it worth winding up on blacklists?
Too many webmasters out there do this shit. If you are a directory or a link board,
why even offer link trades when you know your just going to remove it after a week
or two... or a month, or whenever.
It is not like webmasters do not talk.

...fucking assholes :321GFY

Guess this would be a bad time to promote my adult directory:(

Hey there not ALL like that
Frankly I don't see reason why they would do that but I'm sure it probably happens

just be honest. always be honest. and your reputation amongst your peers will always be golden, it's the dumbfucks out there that ruin credibility in this industry imho.

If "too many" do it then you're probably just going to have to accept that it happens. :2 cents: It sucks, but you just move on... automate the checking so you can quickly reciprocate the drop.

It is not always as easy as 'it should stay up forever'.

When I look at sites to decide if there is a trade to be done, I expect the sites to remain somewhat active and current. If I check a link 3-6-12-18 months later and its now a link farm, or blatant splog that has been left for dead, I'm dropping the trade, I email and explain that I'm simply not feeding their shit piles, and to hit me up for a real, equal value trade.

I've dumped 40-50 trades probably this year already, and only really done one full review, but also have thousands of such trades done.

No prob with letting the webmaster know. And I agree, if the webmaster changes the site from something good to something that is totally useless to my surfers, I do the same thing. I email them out of simple decency. Thats a good rule to follow :thumbsup

yeah you guys are awesome, I am talking about webmasters that operate tgps, links, indexes, directories, paysites, freesites, blogs, whatever.

Review sites, affiliate directories, etc. are not expected too imho. Although if one of my review sites dumped a site i own and i continue to send traffic to them, I would like to know what they decided to dump me, but that has never happened to me personally. Review sites for the most part are pretty professional, as far as respecting link placement.

darksoul 08-01-2009 01:46 AM

I don't get why some of you think that a link is meant to stay up forever ?
Implement a checking system and move on.

I get rid of links to shit piles everyday, and usually don't have a clue what email is associated with which link. I would assume most people have the recip automated anyway so why waster the time sending an email!

katharos 08-01-2009 02:14 AM

i am happy i never ever exchanged any links or banner and i never will :) no problems and all traffic is only yours :)
