One of the girls who chats for us at LiveCamNetwork.com sent us pictures like these to use for promotion:

The problem with the pictures is with the color and noise.

Does anyone have any good tips on ways to fix images like these?

try noise ninja plugin?

SilentKnight 07-29-2009 02:58 PM

Yep - for starters I'd run them through Imagenomic Portraiture plugin to give a subtle soft blur, while lowering the midtone lighting range.

I'd also boost the skintone saturation a bit.

They're good pics - they just need some TLC and tweaking.

Mark hit me up Ill do them for ya.

NoiseNinja, some minor color correction and overall touch up will make a decent enough improvement.

You can also use dust and scratches, mixed with a little bit of gaussian blur on a duplicated layer. Mask in what you want on the duplicated layer. It also needs color correction.

Here is real quick.

I can fix the pixelation around the chin area some more, but just did a real quick to give you an ider. Shrinking the size of the pic will also help some. What res do you need these in?

Brightness/contrast & reduce the size a bit for starters.

ditto, and I'm no guru, but you can hand touch for time consuming dollars, no problem. That's the whole point going back to the first version of photoshop.

those two guys did a good job though, especially considering how fast they did it.
