There are BEES in my house!

Not just bees, but yellow fucking jackets!

this week ive found 5 of them... actually my cat did. they must be coming from my fireplace because ive looked everywhere and cant find a where they would be coming from.

I'm paranoid because im allergic to these flying stinging machines and I dont want them to attack my cat or gf (as that would ruin sexy time for sure).

Anyone know how to get rid of them without spraying my whole house with Raid? They must be hanging out in the fireplace so i bought a log to burn to try and smoke them out, any other suggestions?

You probably have a hive nest somewhere in your house.

Be very afraid :Oh crap

baddog 07-29-2009 12:14 PM

Wasps love this time of year. You do need to find the nest as they can become a very big problem quickly.

Manowar 07-29-2009 12:16 PM

definitely a nest near by, be careful because your cat could find it before you and get attacked

Mr Pheer 07-29-2009 12:18 PM

Yellow Jackets are wasps, not bees. Totaly different animals.

If they are in your chimney, just start a fire. They will get the idea and leave. If you have an attic with vents to the outside, they could be in your attic... and the nest could be huge.

Walk all around your house and look at the roof overhang for nests, and in bushes.

i had this happen a few years ago, the biggest hive of bee's inside my screened in sun deck. i lived in an apartment at the time. i reported it and seen the maintenance guy come down on his golf cart... he must of seen the size of the swarm of bee's because he hit the breaks and peeled out going the opposite direction.... anyway they sent an exterminator and they were going the next day

bobby666 07-29-2009 12:23 PM

that doesn't sound healthy

Vicious_B 07-29-2009 12:24 PM

I would call an exterminator right away. Those aren't anything you should mess with especially if your allergic.

96ukssob 07-29-2009 12:28 PM

i have an attic but the access is by the bathroom in the back of my place, no where near they are coming from. The attic is insulated and covered with plywood, so I don't know how they would be able to get through.

my guess is they are in the fireplace, but im a bit worried about trying to light a fire and they come out into the house rather than out the chimney :helpme

Zuzana Designs 07-29-2009 12:29 PM

Get The Fuck Out OF That Place! Beeeees sucks!

cherrylula 07-29-2009 12:47 PM

we had some living in a window unit air conditioner, we heard the buzzing one day and figured it out...

you just have to get some wasp spray, spray and run!

Vicious_B 07-29-2009 12:59 PM

You are insane if you try and handle them by yourself. Exterminator!!

They wont go towards the heat and smoke, they will go away from it.

We had a bowling ball sized yellow jacket nest in the dead space behind the loft walls (my office) - and were afraid they'd be stinging the cats.

I called a pest control guy and he got them out.

But it cost us $150 bucks :(

brassmonkey 07-29-2009 01:28 PM

light the fireplace up use 1 of those screens to block their escape. they might be up in there. have a spray bottle with soap water 2 soak their asses.

Boobgirl 07-29-2009 03:40 PM

Don't deal with them yourself. Better safe than sorry, and I know after losing my dog to wasp attack only weeks ago

camgirlshide 07-29-2009 04:28 PM

often they just come in the door while open and you don't even realize it. Look for nests near the doors.

I would assume it happened by wasps attacking his dog.

ParlourCash Karl 07-30-2009 02:58 AM

I'm not a fan of Wasps, got stung by one and it hurt like hell

Sarah_Jayne 07-30-2009 03:53 AM

I am really allergic and I become a total freaked out child around bees and wasps. If there is just one in the house I panic. Many would make me go totally mental.

tranza 07-30-2009 05:53 AM

I hate those wasps and bees too...good luck on this...

LiveDose 07-30-2009 06:11 AM

God what a nightmare. They must have setup shop in your walls or attic.
