Michael Schumacher back behind the wheel!

Everybody said it in the past few days, now it's official.

He will Finish the season for Ferrari due to Massa's injury.

This is exciting.

Evil Chris 07-29-2009 11:14 AM

I heard he would NOT, and that he's just testing for them.

If true, this will inject a lot of enthusiasm back into F1.

not sure on his fitness levels, although I know he picked up a kneck injury a few months ago, but managed to race in a go-karting event a few weeks back, which is a good sign.

He will be on a sick fitness regime now, considering he's never driver this '09 spec car it will be a intense thing too see.

Just hope that my man jenson button dosent start loseing points too him!!

Shifter karts are brutal, damn near the g-forces that F1 cars generate. If he can handle that he can handle getting back in a F1 car.

i fucking love shifter karts

crockett 07-29-2009 12:41 PM

Damn, when I first saw that wreck, I knew there is no way Massa would ever drive again after having a skull fracture. My first thought was Schumacher would drive again for the rest of this season or at least the next few races.

Yea, I used to race them, but not the sit up style, I raced the laydown enduros.

I raced speedway karts (non-shifter) on the dirt, and shifter karts on a road course.

I'd always be sweating my ass off and totaly out of breath after a shifter race, its a lot work driving one.

Yea, I did the road courses as well, but started out on dirt for a short time.

Jman 07-29-2009 01:44 PM

Awesome news, now if only Villeneuve could find his balls back and make a come back ;-)

AssPirate 07-29-2009 01:58 PM

he's back for more abuse. great!!!!

InternetIsForPorn 07-29-2009 02:46 PM

I will actually watch F1 again because of this.

iXxX 07-29-2009 03:28 PM

I think Michael will be ok as long as he completes the fitness test this week.

Driving a F1 car is like riding a push bike for Michael

Ferrari will have him doing all the straight-line speed test's over the next few weeks in the F60 plus using the simulator at Ferrari HQ.

It's going to be fantastic watching Michael on track again...

rowan 07-29-2009 03:53 PM

In the past I've found races to be a little too consistent and formulaic once MS hits the lead, but I agree this is going to add some excitement to the sport! Has it really been 3 years since he retired?

iXxX 07-29-2009 04:03 PM

His last race was 22 October 2006 Brazil

Last time tested a Ferrari F1 Car was April 2008 which was setup for this years spec ie slicks, and loss of downforce to this years regulations.

Very exciting news.
Love F-1 and Schumy. True champ.
I have no doubt he'll do well if not great.
The man was born for F-1. I hope he'll win one GP.
That would be priceless.

Everybody said it in the past few days, now it's official.
Yes, it is official...

iXxX 07-31-2009 05:43 AM

Today he is testing the old F2007 ( 2007 Championship winner Car ) at Ferrari's Mugello race track in Italy

Looking forward to the race in Spain in a few weeks time.

John-ACWM 07-31-2009 06:28 AM

Great reason to watch F1 :thumbsup

TheDA 08-11-2009 01:35 AM

Schumacher won't be racing F1 after all. An old neck injury has stopped him.

"Unfortunately we did not manage to get a grip on the pain in the neck which occurred after the private F1-day in Mugello," Schumacher told his website.

Cash 08-11-2009 11:07 AM

He just said NO due to his neck injury ...
