What kind of card do you get for a person who just killed somebody by accident?

Some guy was crossing the highway in the middle of the night and was struck and killed instantly on impact.

The dude driving was my buddy and he said the guy exploded on impact all over the place.

The scene was gruesome and his girlfriend was on the passenger side in shock. Anyway, the investigation is over and the guy crossing should have never been there in the first place.

So, do I get him a get well card or an empathy card?

Might wanna make one with "What did the motorist say to the pedestrian??" on the outside cover... then

"I'd hit it!" on the inside.

no - a greeting card is totally inappropriate in this situation. i'd go with one of those balloon bouquets with candy or a gift box from Omaha Steaks.

+1 on the steaks idea. Although, he probably has some in the grill.

Get him a nice cleaner kit for his wind-shield.

Nah seriously just send some flowers and say something about unfortunate matter.

I'd have to agree that if this is a good friend I'd say skip the card and do something nice, like take him out to dinner and drinks, etc.

I know what you mean though about difficulty finding a card- one of my neighbors went out of town about 2 weeks ago, let their daughter and her husband watch the house. They got into a fight and the daughter stepped out back onto the dock and blew her brains out.

It happened only two houses down. Crazy shit, crazy world.

I found a really nice condolences card but didn't mail it. Something like that.. I don't know, I don't want to make the trauma worse by mailing a memento.

Don't get friends cards. It's pretty gay. Bring him out for a few drinks.

CYF 07-28-2009 01:45 PM

Wow, that's unfortunate. I agree on the flowers and a note.

Just be there for him as a friend. if he needs to talk about it be there to listen. if he dwells on it, take him to a game, or out.

EllaBlack 07-28-2009 01:47 PM

scotch, all the way. with a glass for his girlfriend too.
