Kimbo Slice in the new Ultimate Fighter show

Don't know about you guys but even though he's probably going to get his ass handed to him, it got me looking forward to watch this next season. It'll be interesting to see if he can hang with those guys. I just found it odd that the teachers will now be smaller than the students.

I don't mean to be a dick but this thread would've got a bigger response about a month ago. They've been promoting him on UF for a while now. I can't wait for him to go down again.

he will get ass kicked again

It's funny in a way that he's lost every fight against mediorcre MMA opponents yet he's on a show like that. No hate here, it's just humorous in a way. I don't think Kimbo is cut out for MMA style fighting, but I'm happy to see him make the most of what he has. He's a made for tv type personality.

This Ultimate Fighter is like WWE?

I think it will be good for him to get a taste of life as a real fighter...this dude has been living in a fantasy world up until he stepped in a legitimate ring and had a legitimate fight. If he actually qualifies to live in the UF house and be on the show, he might actually surprise some of us when he gets a chance to work with some real coaches.

Bas Rutten couldn't have been that bad could he?

LeRoy 07-28-2009 01:18 PM

I'll kick his ass ;)

Don't forget Ganon. I didn't see much development in his MMA fights compared to his Ganon fight.

So tired of hearing about this tool. He should keep his day job at Nasty and stay out of the ring.

I think its a good idea and I think he will make it into the house if I had to guess.

I dont dislike Kimbo like some others. I rooted hard for Junie Brown to get his ass kicked and he did, yet he still fights and gets his ass kicked.

I think the ultimate fighter is a good program for the most part. Last season was good. :2 cents:

He trains with a real coach.

You should be glad the internet has the kind of pull that put Kimbo in the position he's in.
Otherwise there might not be any hope for anything big to come out of what we do all day.

Kimbo loses the 2 week in the house by an arm bar. IT has been leaked all over the MMA forums. Sorry to spoil it.

You didn't ruin anything, as that is one of a hundred different unsubstantiated rumors that have been posted online. The most credible one was supposed to be that he got KO'd by Roy Nelson, but even that was from a joke thread on an MMA forum...

PastorSinAlot 07-28-2009 05:44 PM

kimbo will fuk u all up

SomeCreep 07-28-2009 06:20 PM

Cool, Kimbo has charisma and marketability. I'm looking forward to watching the new season.

YEAH!!! He is a big dude and really no matter what any of us say its pretty much a put up or shut up type of deal. I give props to anyone who is either A skilled enough to step in that arena or B crazy enough. The old days were dope though, Pride, where you actually had no weight classes and you had to have the stamina to deal with whatever was thrown your way. There needs to be more of that in MMA now, that would be nice. Mix it up. Its almost like now they are training to get through 12 minutes instead of being a complete machine that can go as long as it takes to get the job done. Just my :2 cents: though. Cant wait to see the show though.

Nicky 07-28-2009 07:32 PM

When does the show air?

MattJustin 07-28-2009 08:30 PM

Above is video that was shot at a press conference in October, showing UFC President Dana White saying Kimbo Slice would be welcome to join the cast of The Ultimate Fighter -- but that he wouldn't win if he were on it. Now, eight months later, Kimbo has been added to the cast of The Ultimate Fighter. So why are so many people so shocked?

I think the shock comes more from Kimbo accepting the offer than from White making the offer. Kimbo reportedly made $500,000 for his last EliteXC fight, and contestants on The Ultimate Fighter are competing for the right to earn just $100,000. From that perspective, it would make no sense for Kimbo to accept a spot on The Ultimate Fighter, because he'd be accepting a massive pay cut.

White, however, told Cage Writer that if Kimbo wins Season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter, he will get a much better deal than the standard six-figure contract.

"He's got a contract if he wins the show," White said. "He's got a contract to fight in the UFC. And it's a good one. That's his carrot. If he can do this, he can make some real money."

White also said that he looks forward to seeing if Kimbo can prove him wrong. And for those who have a short memory, below are some of the things that White says he looks forward to being proved wrong about.

"Kimbo Slice sucks, like I've said now for the last few months. This f**king guy can't fight":

"Kimbo Slice would get murdered in the UFC":

"Ken (Shamrock) is way past his prime. It gets to the point where it's dangerous for him to still be fighting. That being said, he still might beat Kimbo. Kimbo sucks":

Interesting tidbit there.

I also heard Shaq might dabble in the UFC. Dana White commented on it in some interview but I doubt that will ever happen.

All I know is Dana White is one smart cookie. He keeps things interesting. Good stuff.
