Definitely not a new twist, same thing they've been running on Craigslist the last 4 years. They send you an overpayment for some odd reason they make up, its a bogus check. They ask you to send them back the difference and by the time the check comes back as bogus they've already cashed yours.

Phil 07-28-2009 12:19 AM

Actually most of these dog scams involve the original dog owner heading out to do missionary work and thats why they need to find the dog a home.

The scam goes as follows...

I need to find a nice home for my dog as I am leaving to do God's work and can not take it with me, it is a PUREBRED dog WITH PAPERS, and for only $100 - $200 (which is just the cost to ship him) you can have my dog...

Send them the $100 - $200 bucks

Another series of emails come

Now there is this awful charge from the airport, they need another $300 - $500 for special crating for the dog please send to this fake airport

Send them the $300 - $500 bucks

Now yet another series of emails OR skip to the end

Your new dog is now in the states near you HOWEVER there is yet another charge before you can come pick it up please send $200 - $400 to this holding company

Send them the $200 - $500 bucks

Now you either hear nothing back OR skip to the end

(The End) and quite possibly the most brilliant fucking scam I've ever heard of......

You get contacted by a group (SAME AS THE FIRST) informing you that YOU WERE SCAMMED, and they are AWARE of it, and THEY are going to help you get all your money back BUT you need to send them $500 - $1,000 for the proper paperwork and other odds and end to ensure the capture of these sick dog ppl... ONCE they have PROVED you were scammed by these people, not only will you get all of your scammed money back but also the $500 - $1,000 back you spent to get these people caught in the first place.

Send the $500 - $1,000 and go smoke a cig, cause you got double fucked lol

This line really pulls at the heart-strings of religious people. They LOVE doing business with other followers. I've met Christians who will ONLY be friends with you if you are also Christian. I've been to job interviews where the opening line is "Are you Christian?". LOL

InternetIsForPorn 07-28-2009 04:09 AM

FUCKIN NIGERIANS

I used to watch/listen a show on the web where folks actually called them on skype and made fun of them, hilarious

But when they pull this shit with puppies it really gets my gut. LEAVE THE PUPPIES ALONE.

Klen 07-28-2009 06:12 AM

There are 1000 of ads which give puppies for free, not the mention many dogs without owner,so why would anyone pay for a dog it is beyond me.

Net Money 07-28-2009 06:15 AM

A total scam, but not a new twist.:2 cents:

Definitely a scam.

bobby666 07-28-2009 09:05 AM

hehe nice attemp

ModelPerfect 07-28-2009 10:25 AM

"I'm currently in Nigeria" is your biggest clue.

QUESTION: These scams always initially ask for name, address, telephone #, and usually birthdate and job (and they have your email). If you sent them nothing but this info, what is the worst case scenario? i.e. how much can they do with this info?

StaceyJo 07-28-2009 11:54 AM

Oh! That's scam.:Oh crap
