Where should you buy a laptop?
 

Online or in the store? Like Egghead or Bestbuy? I always think if I shop online I'll get a good deal, but if Im in the store can see if I like it or not.

tigerdirect.com is the only place i'll buy a pc or laptop

Why is that?

I look on bestbuy.com order, and pick up at the store most of the time, I have done that with the last 50 laptops I have owned..

eh, i don't like most laptops at bestbuy etc. I prefer getting one without a operating system so there is no extra junk included.

I used to buy real cheap pieces of shit that I could write off and donate/sell on craigslist after a year. This last one I actually bought straight through my Dell Gold rep, and it's pretty awesome. It's got 1920x1200 resolution and doesn't afraid of anything.

i would say check tigerdirect and newegg.

I hate futureshop for a number of reasons, but the prices were good and they had the machine I wanted, so I bought a machine (Macbook) there last.

I would say buy your machine at a store where you can test it and try it first.

Save the hassle... get a dell

I know some people might not agree with this, but I'd consider Ebay for buying a laptop, just be extremely careful.

A couple of years I bought a nice new Dell M1710 fully loaded, it even came with a case and extra power adapter, when I priced it up on Dell's site with tax and shipping, it would've been $4,500, I paid $3,200 and it was brand new and sealed still WITH a 3 year warranty.

HOWEVER, if you do, you'd better really check the seller, the guy I bought from had close to 1,000 feedback. If you see someone with great deals on laptops with like 10 feedback, avoid at all costs, ha ha.

Tigerdirect has some killer deals, especially any holiday weekend. My last laptop I bought over the LaborDay weekend for $600 and couldn't find it for less than $1500 anywhere else.
