Palin offically stepped down as Alaska's governor yesterday. In her farewell speech she decided to take a shot at the media who have hounded her ever since she became the VP candidate last year.

She said, "So how about in honor of the American soldier, you quit making up things. And don't underestimate the wisdom of the people. And one other thing for the media -- our new governor has a very nice family, too, so leave his kids alone,"

If she feels the media has been unfair to her, I have no problem with her taking a shot at them, but when she makes it out like the media going after he is somehow disrespecting our soldiers it makes me shake my head. This makes her come off like a douche then she wonders why people criticize her.

Who put her family up in front of the cameras and used them as election fodder in the first place???

I have trouble listening to her.

The way I took it was she was saying that soldiers are fighting for our freedoms and many have given their lives in doing so. She was asking that those freedoms not be abused and pointed to the media that in her eyes have been abusive.

To me she comes off in a way when someone questions her or goes after her they are be abusive and it is the "liberal elite media" attacking her and "real America." But of course if she goes after someone else then it is okay.
