If true, it brings upon the first major strike in the net neutrality wars. And they picked a site that would probably fight back the hardest. Not smart in my opinion.

Full story:

The original block was merely to stop a DDoS attack. It's quite possible that it happened automatically.

The block was lifted about an hour ago.

Now, 4chan is all but down because the entire internet is checking to see if it's really true - basically forming a natural DDoS attack.

I can't reach it from my Comcast cable, either.

Can't reach it from one of my servers either, times out on
15 208.175.175.22 (208.175.175.22) 47.827 ms 47.823 ms 47.625 ms

That ip is owned by Savvis, not ATT. Not sure what's going on.

It's come to our attention that AT&T is filtering/blocking img.4chan.org (/b/ & /r9k/) for many of their customers. There is no remedy at this time.

If you've been affected, I would advise you call or write customer support and corporate immediately.

UPDATE: Some coverage on TechCrunch, Digg, reddit, and Google News. Also, note that AT&T has yet to contact us.

If they'll goto war with the Scientologists, I'm sure they'll go at it with AT&T too :2 cents:

I'm on AT&T, and I got to /b/ without any problems.

I've checked about 7 or 8 different AT&T connections and they all can access 4chan. I vote hoax.

AT&T claimed it was to stop a DDoS on a AT&T customer from spreading to other customers, they lifted the block sometime lastnight.
