Webair server is not compatible with Linkex ????

Hi,
I'm using Linkex with my Webair hosting account. It only works well for some weeks, then every time I want to add new links, it shows this message: "[Fatal Error: Unable to write to UID file]". In this case, I have no choice but installing new Linkex in new directory, and the new one works, but for only few weeks lol. This is the webair server problem, not the script! Anyone suffers this issue, too? What should I do to stop this??
Regards.

it's permission problem.
you need to chmod something...

PS:
WebAir sucks!

Yes you can run Linkex on your virtual hosting plan,we have many clients that do. We can get a support ticket opened and assist you with this no problem. I will create the ticket on your behalf and follow up with you on it.

Why would someone suggest getting a new host over an obvious permission problem?

Damn, advise to start a ticket with the host and get it resolved. Webair takes care of all my tickets just fine... even when I fuck things up royally.

Why didn't you talk to webair about this instead of posting here?

Maybe he's had the displeasure of hosting with Webair before. Or maybe he doesn't understand why a host would feel the need to change the file system permissions on a user every couple of weeks?

Damn whats with all the hate?? Webair has been great for me!

fris 07-26-2009 08:46 PM

doubt its a webair issue, probably a user error

You need to open a support ticket to chmod?

That's ridiculous.

I have used a lot of hoste for virtual accounts over the last few years, when I need something hosted somewhere else than my own server for SEO reasons.

But the last few months I have tried 3 that post a lot here on gfy, and they only way you can get a Wordpress upload to work there, is by chmodding the mediafolder to 777.

when your own host say stuff like that, you know its time to move the fuck out.

But Webair was not one of those

brassmonkey 07-27-2009 03:52 AM

try this

change the permission of
data/links from 755 to 777

and the permission of
data/config/config
data/config/rules
data/config/uid
from 644 to 666
