Need to buy a desk

I need to buy a desk for my PC for under $200.

Sears has a nice one I saw online but apparently it's not in stock anywhere.

Does anyone know any places online that ship to Hawai'i?

this may sound wierd. But go to Ikea. (or some other furniture place) and buy a table instead. Trust me.
A simple table, is best.

4 legs and a flat surface. You can't beat it.

I probably will buy a table... but no Ikea's in Hawai'i.

I'm gunna go to Sears tomorrow and see what I can find.

My apt. already has a desk but it is not long enough for my monitor AND keyboard (monitor is 18" long).

Hehe IKEA, today in the Netherlands all IKEA's are closed. Already 3 bombs are found...

Also the Dutch news(ANP) is closed due a bombnotice(not sure there is one)

Do you have any stores that sell USED furniture and fixtures ??

I have an old solid wood Schoolteacher's Desk ... it is FANTASTIC !! HUGE working surface (I have TWO 19" CRT monitors, my tower, two decent sized advent wireless speakers, my business speakerphone, my mousepad, and a cd organizer, and I still have plenty of room to write or work on .... it has drawers on each side of my legs, and each large bottom drawer will hold legal size hanging file folders ...

http://www.ninthline.com/newdigs/ima.../newdigs09.jpg <br> (that monitor was a 17" ... but even now with twin 19's, it still has a shitload of working space!)

I would not trade in this desk for any of the "new" office furniture I have seen ... I bought it off an ex roommate, and it was the best investment I could have made (thanks Kris!!) :winkwink:

I'd bet you could find something in very good shape that would fit your budget

I know how important a LARGE workspace is ... short of what I suggested, yeah I'd say grab a 6-8 foot long utility table with the folding legs ...
If you are handy at all, you can even buy a nice piece of like 1½" thick lumber from your local planing mill, and the folding legs either from them also, or a hardware store, and make a very sweet looking piece of office furniture for a relatively inexpensive price ...

Yeah. I've used them for years. I've always had 2 or 3 21" CRT's on my main desk.... traditional desks just dont cut it for more than one big monitor. The only downside (and it doesnt really bother me) is that you have to pull the tables about 9" from the wall so the back of the monitors can hang off the ledge.

I'd take a picture but I just got home & I"m beat.. and by the time I'm ready to take em' - this thread'll be dead.

Shit, I never thought of that... I may not need a desk after all then.

I'm thinking about mounting my monitor on one of those wall brackets.
