Anyone here on Linux

Any GFY-er running on Linux?
If yes - please say what distribution and why you have chosen that one.
(why do you think it's the best and all other sucks)

OpenSUSE. It supposed basically everything Windows does, is stable without having the 'UPGRADE EVERY HOUR' or 'BUILD YOUR OWN BOAT' issues of other distributions.

I've used, and have/do support most major distributions - but this is my personal choice.

I bounce back and forth. Got several computers. Running Ubuntu on my laptop, Debian on my old lappy, XP on my notebook, and Vista on my desktop. All are running VirtualBox with TinyXP VM's...

Slackware for 10 years now.

Debian is also great in my opinion.

Funny yesterday also someone opened thread with same question.
If you have windows installed at the moment, you can install virtualbox and test various distributions there.

I have one machine at home running Ubuntu.

My main desktop and laptop both run OSX

CYF 07-24-2009 03:31 PM

I have a Macbook, and I also use openbsd and freebsd. I haven't used on my own computer since 1997.

The poll should have allowed multiple answers...

Here's everything I run:

OSX
Win XP
Win 7
Debian
Ubuntu
OpenBSD

Slackware Linux with the XFCE desktop.

Just because I'm fat and bloated doesn't mean my OS should be.

I have Puppy Linux on a USB stick. It was easy to install and small....I use windows 99.9% of the time, just wanted to play around with Linux and that one seemed easy enough to use. And it's cool having your whole OS on a memory stick. :upsidedow
