Is it even Worth it Start a Paysite anymore?
if you wanna go exclusive, paying the models, taking the time to scout them and photograph them, editing the content, etc.
if you go non-exclusive, finding the right kind of content, buying it, editing it. designing the site, keeping up with populating the members' area, etc. is it worth it anymore? or is more profitable and less time consuming to just peddle someone else's site? |
nope there is no money in porn :winkwink:
|
Actually no, not really, unless you're doing something mindblowing new and cool, what's the point.
|
nope...........
|
nope...finish high school

For me, the return on investment for pushing other people's stuff comes quicker since I'm only out a few bucks for domain names and some affordable hosting. Shooting my own content got expensive and I couldn't afford to run it myself anymore. I hooked up with a larger program who was better suited to handle such a thing.
I always ran my sites on a shoestring and I think these days you need deeper pockets to compete. That's my take on it, anyway... - PornAddict |
yea, you are right, now is not an ideal time to start a paysite...

well actually there is still money to be made in solo girl sites but the girl can't just be a 100 sets shot content girl anymore if you want to make money.. The girl has to already have a myspace, facebook and or twitter fanbase and be willing to chat and webcam with models several times a week. This is the only type of solo site that will make it in this tough new world. guys can get anything they want off tubes except interaction with the real model |

I'm just wondering if it's worth all the time and trouble. Personally I own about 10 sites (in addition to my main bread and butter which is web design/development) but they're so time consuming and the ROI is so low that sometimes I wonder if it's all worth it. |

yeah don't mess with me, or you'll get a spanking!

Launched my first paysite in March this year. Worked for me! But then again I'm not exactly mainstream.
|
depends on the niche and how much content you have. tough call but expensive risk IMO
|
good for you girl....put them in their place
|
Yep. It's worth it.
I just started a tube pay site hybrid 2 months back. It is doing marvelously between the site and clip stores revenue. It still has minimal traffic, but all things considered is still profitable. If you have some good content, and know your market. You will still do well. |

If you have your own traffic sources and don't have to rely on others it's more worth it then sending the sales elsewhere.

Starting a new paysite is not as easy as it used to be. Now you need a really good idea, original and content well done. Also you need a big pocket to keep it while is growing.
I still remember those days in GFY when everydays programs posted 20 new paysites a day (or more?) |
Its a tough game but I think its worth the effort

If you have another site that is the same as 1,000 others it's not going to make money. If you have something the buyers need it will. Funny what you said about content though. After 8 years of everyone thinking exclusive was the key, you exposed the flaw in that method. Very few sites can afford to put up a decent site with enough exclusive content and the non exclusive market was never developed the way it should of been. 100+ good content providers feeding sites with new affordable content. |
You can do it and work on the SEO. Thats where you'll get most of your sales. Affiliates will make some too.
As an affiliate your battling the cookie thing. When you own a paysite cookie schmookie |

I cant believe I didn't think of this before! :thumbsup |
If you ask me, I think it is definately worth it....as long as you have content that is either unique or has been done very well. I have been making a very nice living for about 4 years now running my site so there is definately money to be made in the paysite buisness. However, I work very hard and it is definately time consuming. I update the site on my own, shoot the girls, create the promo galleries and banners...among many other things. And I don't mind because I love what I do.
But yeah, as long as you have the time to put into the site as well as having a clear understanding on how to properly and successfully run a paysite then why not give it a shot? Good luck to you.....:thumbsup |
Of course its worth it if you have something unique to sell.
